Although I agree with the sentiment, it’s unfortunately very vague and poorly written; the police powers are there and the sentences are a Sentencing Council and CPS matter, rather than police. The petition isn’t actually clear on what it is asking for, it’s just saying “we’re fed up”. I feel that to effect change, it needs to be made clear exactly what change it is that we are asking for.
