Rodent problem

Hi all !
My name is Robert23, can you help me?

. I want to ask you guys for some advice. I want to have a motorbike, I went on a trip for a few weeks away from home. And when I was back home, I discovered that the cushions of my motorbike were eaten away by rats and moles or I don’t know exactly. But I know the cockroaches didn’t chew them because of the drops found nearby. I don’t know exactly what to do about these moles and rats. I thought the dirt and mess attracted them and I did my best to do something about it, but the rats kept coming at me. I have used mole and rat traps but both still manage to take the bait and run away with it. A friend advised me to use this “Ask for help” product which proved effective for him and I would like to have the opinion of some people who had the same problem, or the opinion of experts. If this happens, is it reliable and safe for other living things, i.e. pets?
Thanks! Robert23

Hi and welcome. Do you have a local pest control team in your area, they would be a good starting place :slightly_smiling_face:

Welcome, Robert. Our cats sometimes kill moles in the field by the house, and I have rescued a few as well. They have such short legs that I don’t see how they would be able to climb up on a motorcycle, or why indeed they would want to. I expect your problem is rats. Rat poison works pretty well.

The only thing with rat poison is that it can be harmful to other animals. When I had a rat problem at another property some years ago. I put the poison in a piece of 4" drainage pipe, to keep larger animals out. This worked well.

The best thing is indoor parking that is rodent-proof, or you could use some kind of a cover for your bike if outdoor parking is only option.

Some deterrents like chemicals in tire-shine spray can keep them away. If you use poison, just important to make sure other animals don’t eat poisoned rats after they die or else they will also be poisoned.
