Some additional, regular housekeeping is being introduced to the forum members database.
Starting from January 2026, accounts will be deleted routinely if they meet ALL the following criteria:
- The member signed up more that a year ago.
- The member has not logged in for over a year.
- The member has never posted on the forum.
Any post or reply will permanently exempt your account from being removed as part of this housekeeping process. If you don’t want to post but do wish to stay a member, just log in once per year to maintain your account
Anyone can rejoin at any time. This is just maintenance, not a ban.

Just curious, are there many in that bracket?
Probably around 20 or 30. You’d be surprised at how many people sign up then never post, or even log in. Some may be bots that sneak through but don’t disrupt. I presume the rest just thought they’d like to join in but found something more interesting to do.
The only technical advantage of being a member, apart from being able to post/like/vote etc is receiving the digest email. Other than that, it’s all readable and searchable.
Perhaps some people catch a Bluesky or Mastodon post in their feed, or see us on the first page of their search results, and jump in with good intentions. The trick with any social media platform is it’s ‘stickiness’, hence looking for feedback and suggestions to bring more of what the community wants.
