Salers - don't venture out after sunset!

@Hubaxe 's post today reminded me of good rides we’ve had over the years around Salers, so here’s a few photos to give a feel for the place…










But be warned!!!
Wander the village after dark and you may come across strange folk!!


(Actually a couple we toured many thousands of miles with back in the day - and perhaps sent slightly mad?)

your pictures display very well the area typical roofing made of flat stones called “lauze”.

If I can add a bit of historical mystery, not far from Salers, there is the Gevaudan region. You can easily imagine hunters sent there by the king crossing those black stone cities to find the beast.
All that actually happened and was documented. The only myth is about the kind of beast. Probably a big wolf.
