The last motorbike trip on my Honda CB500X, before I traded it for my Speed 400 earlier this year, was a few days riding in the Scottish Borders. This trip is featured in the next issue of Motorcycle Sport and Leisure magazine, out soon.
It looks like a good issue, especially for anyone thinking about some riding in Scotland because as well as my Borders trip there is a ride from Yorkshire, up through Glenshee to Inverness and back down the west side via Oban and Glencoe. Looks a good trip, although I haven’t read it yet… the magazine has just arrived today!
Definitely do it! It’s fantastic
My mate and I are heading in that area @ajc400 early next year on his “little” bikes. A Versys 300 and a VStrom 250, should be ideal for those roads
I only know the borders coming up through Jedburgh - very nice roads, very pretty countryside. I’m hoping to see the western side next year on my way to Ireland.
Love the borders. Used to enjoy passing through the area when l was working in Aberdeen pretty regularly, and we had a great week in D & G a couple of years ago. Rode the area in 2021 too with Wessa and the late Andypandy. Portpatrick is also the western end of the Southern Upland Way, if you fancy a wee stroll…
Have to agree, the boards and north Northumberland are fantastic riding roads. I have been in that area many times and have fond memories of riding with @andypandy and friends.
The roads between Yorkshire and Edinburgh via Jedburgh was a weekly trip for me. Never got tired of that journey, except for all the bloody speed cameras around there.
