Sludge trap

Hi guys, finally I ve reached the sludge trap. It was quite dirty, forgot to make a pic. What do you guys think? Is it necessary to take the tube out for cleaning it perfect or is it enough in the installed state? I m thinking of the small passages.
And I guess the big end bearing need to be renewed, although it has no tolerance.

… @Iron, I love my wodden stand. The carpenters solution, very helpfull, cheap and variable
… and thanx all the others for the warm welcome few weeks ago

Good job. Sometimes those sludge trap plugs are a pain to get out - glad to see you got it.
Yes, take the tube out and clean everything. Ensure the oilways all freely flow.
There are several methods to remove the tube, as I always renew both the tube and the plug (the newer allen bolt plugs are better but ensure it isn’t screwed in too far to cover the oilway).
I use a tap to screw into the tube (I think it’s a 5/8 thread) to pull out or you can make up something like this

Always replace the big end shells as they are fairly cheap. Make sure you have the correct size.

Made this from a broken tool …

Will try a 16mm thread to pull it out, its easier for me to get it and its only 0,3mm larger than a 5/8
