Special tools required

Hi guys, …

just dismantling my motor T140V '74 as you see, so far so good with the support of Todd from Lowbrow Customs, an excellent tutorial by the way, and Iron of course. But now I need definetly some special tools, my partsdealer isn t well stocked, like a cam puller/installer, crankshaft sprocket puller … Does anybody know a dealer who has all together, I don t want to order the staff separatly. Ideally in Germany, if there is no other option as well in UK.
Oily greetings from Munich/Bavaria

I like your engine stand :slightly_smiling_face:
I’m afraid I don’t know any German dealers - how about Austria? These guys may help:

The special tools are pretty easy to find in the UK - these guys supply globally

Your model was manufactured June 1974 (from the engine numbers) T140 cam pinions are straight pulled rather than using a threaded turned puller as shown on Lowbrow Todd’s T120

You only need to remove the cam pinions if you find the cams are worn or to replace. The casings will part without taking the cams out. There is no timing breather butterfly on the end of the inlet cam on a T140 as they breath through the primary. Note there is no oil seal in the primary on the crankshaft to allow for this.

Every serious forum should have an “Iron” in the list of valuable members. :+1:
