I am a new rider with a new bike (24 Speed Twin 900) and I have gone about 600 miles so far. I am building skills quickly and considering some longer trips on my bike. After a 60 mile ride the other day my knees were starting to feel it. I took one break with about 15 miles to go and while it was bearable it was not comfortable. I started looking for options to put my feet in other positions. I like the idea of forward (highway) pegs so I can stretch my knees out occasionally. The problem I am having is how do I mount them. With the position of the exhaust I don’t see an easy way to bolt them on. I have considered getting dresser bars and possibly add pegs to those but I wonder if any of you had creative options that I may not have seen or thought of yet.
I didn’t find this video but I am pretty sure I saw this same option on ebay. My big problem with it is the way it looks. I think that rectangle piece that the peg attaches to is UGLY. If this turns out to be the best option though I am not opposed because I want it to be comfortable to ride even if it is ugly lol.

I have never felt properly in control with forward-mounted footrests. Another way to get more leg comfort might be to replace the standard seat with a higher seat, with no need to re-locate brake and gear levers (unless, of course, your model has a higher seat already).
Being decidedly un - gangly I haven’t experienced knee pain on a bike, but as @Dave49 said, could you look at a higher seat, if there isn’t one available it’s far cheaper than you might think to get an upholsterer to add an extra layer of foam into the one you have. Also, are you relaxed enough with being a new rider as being a bit tense may be affecting your comfort? I used to get sore shoulders sometimes when new, just because I wasn’t totally relaxed; I made a conscious effort to relax them and it sorted it and now I am very relaxed on a bike and I suppose “bike fit” and I don’t get any aches even over very long days.
I did get hip pain on my 125, but it simply had the wrong ergonomics for me.
Having had a Street Cup 900 converted to a Street Twin (predecessor to the Speed Twin 900) I can relate at 6 feet tall with a freakish 34” inside leg. For me the solution for long distance riding was raising the seat height instead of the pegs. Perhaps try a cheap strap on seat cushion from Amazon or eBay before buying a different seat or having the standard seat altered.
I am almost the same size. I will try that.
