The Tiger 1050 Owners Australia Gathering

The Inaugural gathering of the 1050 Tiger Owners Australia was held in the Snowy River Alpine region on New South Wales, Sunday 3rd November.

This Pictorial is of my ride travelling to the meet point for the Gathering, which was a trip of approx.1200 klm done over three days on as many great bike roads as possible

First Stop was at a regular cafe of mine, about a 90 minute ride from home, in the wine growing region of the Hunter Valley

the Tiger Sport, waiting patiently

After travelling the renowned Putty Rd, a well liked bike road on the east coast of Australia, I stopped in the apple growing region of Blue Mountains for a coffee and the best apple pie I’ve eaten

the Panorama of the area around Crookwell, where I stopped for the night.

A mural of Black Cockatoos, one of the first things you see as you arrive in Crookwell, a small country sheep grazing town

Day two

The road heading west, just out of Crookwell

Wheat Silos in Murrumburrah, where I stopped for lunch, depicting the farming history of the region

It was really starting to warm up, so a quick afternoon rest stop at a small town, population of about 30 or so

Day Three
a few Alpine road shots, enroute to Albury, where I was to meet a few other members for a meal and a few refreshing ales.

another rest stop, this time at Mount Alfred, overlooking the Murray River, with the road to Albury in the background

And finally a few pic from the Gathering ride the following day
(sorry about the dirty Lens)

“BigKev” has done a great video of the Gathering Ride day, so with his permission I’ll share it here

It’s weird, but I never really think of Australia as being a great motorcycle place. It’s so vast that it obviously must have great biking roads… it just never occurs to me on a day to day basis. But seeing those pics really makes me want to go. Cheers dude!

Looks like biking heaven in those pictures. Most envious.

Queensland and New South Wales have many great bike roads, but the eastern side of Victoria ,ie the High Country, theirs more bike roads than mundane ones.
And as for Tasmania, well lets just say the guy who designed the roads down there must of been a sports bike rider. Biking utopia, regardless of the type of riding you like.
