Think i might have bought the wrong bike

back last summer i bought a 2023 Speed master but i am not really jelling with it (probably should have bought a bobber) only done about two hundred miles on it. i just can’t get on with the beach bars. it took me probably half that to get used to the forward controls but now i like them but the bars are a no no anyway i am not giving up on it i have bought some second hand triumph bobber bars on eBay just need to buy a new clutch cable and brake line. i will stick them on before the summer starts and see how i get on with that.

So easy to buy the wrong bike - I did that with my Suzuki SV650S (those low bars were no good for my back) and my ill-fated Triumph Speed 400 (couldn’t gel with the single cylinder engine).

They lasted 6 months and 5 months respectively.

I hope the alternative bars work for you, but if not maybe just move on…

Hope the new bars work for you. As I’ve said before, that’s the option I went for.

The speedmaster 1200 is a cracking bike, I loved mine. The beach bars aren’t for everyone, so hopefully the bobber bars will improve your ride experience.

I didn’t know what beach bars and bobber bars meant on this bike so had a search… this site looked interesting with some people suggesting 1" back, 1" up bar risers with the bobber bars to get a comfortable position.

There is also a video of a guy who fitted completely flat bars, described as “a human pretzel”!!

Might be worth a quick look…
