Too kool for school
So I browse the S1000XR forum (with the very occasional post).
The vibe is somewhat different there.

I’ve not been banned yet, but I did get a ticking off for suggesting the EU was to blame for some of our bike laws, apparently I was being borderline political, not allowed it seems.

Very friendly place, it seems…
MattR could quite easily be pulled up on his spelling if you want to make a point about his errant punctilliousness …
It’s a balancing act. I will occasionally nudge posts over to a different area if they deserve their own thread but it’s not something to get hung up about. It also depends on the type of forum - a full-on support forum has a greater need to keep things organised than one like ours, which is more of a social place (but some sections are still kept tidier than others).
As it’s relevant, I’ll mention here that I’m in the process of developing a revised category structure that more accurately reflects how people use the forum and to make it easier for people to navigate. Regular level users will get a preview in a week or so and a chance to offer feedback before anything goes live.
Uh-oh. I’m off topic myself, now.
Why did the hipster burn his tongue?
Because he drank his coffee before it was cool.
That’s better.
See, if you’d bought the correct bike you’d be on UKGSer and it’s like the wild west on there. Some of the fall-outs make for some interesting reading
Yeah, there was one recently on the XR forum, anglo-american “special” relations are strained.
It has a lot down to the knob head who runs that site. Commonly know in the trade as a sarcastic twat.
That’s just so bad…
There’s one from over the pond on the GS site, plus we have our own English troll who winds up the self appointed. Personal insults are banned, just about anything else goes as they have a politics section and a virtual pub.
Isn’t this conversation getting a bit, er, off-thread? I blame the moderator…
You’re ok. That made me laugh.
Took me a second read
