This sort of behaviour annoys me big time. Pay what you owe

I hope they pay up. Disgraceful if they don’t.

Entitled idiots. They should pay up as should the fools that need rescuing after going out on the fells seriously ill equipped.

Agreed. I’ve been up Scafell pike, both the Gables, Bow Fell (one of the best IMHO) - but always well equipped and aware of forecasts. Most of these emergencies can be prevented.

Despicable behaviour.

It seems to me the outdoor fraternity has taken a wrong turn since covid. Too many tiktok and youtube “content creators” have encouraged people into the outdoors who lack the empathy required. All they want is an lnstagram sunrise or whatever. Near me Kinder Scout is getting like Glastonbury. We have an old stone circle called Nine Ladies which now serves as a makeshift Stonehenge on the solstice. People cut down trees for firewood, camp all over the place and fail to “leave no trace”. Despicable, but l don’t see it improving…

An update but still not paid.

Fair play to the owner for continuing to help walkers.

I don’t understand these people. They were rescued from the hills, provided for and just walked away without paying their dues.
They should be named and shamed

Intentionally as well, apparently. Utterly respectless.

On the other side of the coin, two thoroughly decent young people

Brilliant. Helvellyn is an easy walk normally, but not in adverse conditions..
