Good Evening All - After returning from a three day Wales trip - gotta be done - I was washing the bike and thought the chain looked a little loose. This was less than 700 miles after its 12k service which included a chain check. The handbook only says to check it in a stable upright position - not specifically on the center stand. I checked it on the side stand, the center stand and a paddock stand and on each occasion it hit the swing arm [book does say 25-35mm]. Triumph advised checking it upright fully loaded - which, yes, meant me sitting on it, and yes, the inference is you need two people !! what a crock! Am I missing something?
You could go back to the dealer and get them to adjust it given that they should have got it correct at your service.
Thats the plan - will update tomorow. Thanks
I adjusted mine as it says in the manual to the right specs, yes. using 2 people! Once done I put the bike on the centre stand and measured it again, now i can do it on my own using the centre stand you can use the same method for the side stand.
Despite being told over the phone it was a two man job, the Triumph technician confirmed - as indeed the owners book did - after a third reading - it should be done unloaded on the center stand. They re-adjusted with no charge - All good. Thanks for the input.
can you tell me what the measurement is? The manual I refer to says to stand it on a level surface, it doesn’t mention the centre stand.
Thanks
