Yes it is. Was discussing it with Dougie this week, it’s on his to do list, then today he sent this, coincidence.
We have been informed that there’s a proposal to place 27 metre tall pylons every 250 metres down the centre of our Towy valley, just outside the beacons national park boundary, bastards.
Don’t see why they can’t bury them.
I’ve sailed past it dozens of times. A spot of incredible natural beauty. The currents in there run up to 14 knots!
I think I’d shat me pants on that, nee naww coming to an A&E near me… Looks like it’s doing 80 just sat there.
Go on then how much was that mister…
List is 18.5k for the EVO (17 for the R), plus another 1k to unlock all the goodies. I got the 2k off deal plus all the goodies. So compared to its rivals thats a good deal… take the Ducati Streetfighter, on paper its got nearly 30 more hp but less torque. In reality the KTM makes more power from idle all the way to its redline! The Ducati has an extra 2k rpm’s before its redline and that the only place it makes that extra power so you can guess which is faster in the real world ![]()
That’s exactly what they’ve just done here. Six pylons came down, one in the village and another five along part of the Peak District moor.
Because they’ve got shareholders to pay dividends too? Pylons are far cheaper than buring cables underground so the bean counters say…
Ahhhh man maths at work🤣
KTM normally do “deals” this time of year don’t they. BMW were doing finance offers on the outgoing 1250 GS as the new 1300 one is due for release at the end of September
Clashes with the carpet though…… ![]()
That would be just too much oomph for me now….
A few years ago, well that may have been different. Enjoy it Andy.
4 posts were split to a new topic: Leaky MZ ETZ250
That looks awesome Andy. Happy new bike day mate.
I just did a compulsive buy on a silicone hose kit for the Sprint ST1050.
There it’s quiet hot, over 30°C, reach 35°C, and just realized the hose are the genuine ones from 2005.
As I plan to change the clutch pin, I’ll take advantage of the fairing removal to chance the hoses.
Edit, like my order to “World of Triumph”, fund reimbursed, order cancelled without any explanation… I’m not a russian bot, I’m an human being (yes frenchman are sometimes human being).
The UK based vendor is AS3performance… Ok. I will not change the hoses…
Follow up: AS3 performance kindly answered me. They use a third part partner to spot fraud. Don’t know why a regular order with my real name, my real address and a paypal payment can be fraudulent. But good point they answer and offer to help
Racking up more miles round the north coast, 400 down now. I always end up stopping at the Glendun Viaduct, its a very impressive structure when your up close.
Glenariff.
And a nice little stop at the river Bann in Kilrea.
The bike is awesome, I already knew that! But this semi-active suspension is very impressive, particularly the automatic mode, the bike is always completely sure footed, and always seems to stay fairly soft, but as soon as you tip into a corner, or apply power, it never squats or wallows about, just stays sure-footed and planted. It adjusts so fast, but you don’t feel it. Impressive stuff.
It did get a good soaking too, some very heavy showers about today and I managed to catch two of them ![]()
All cleaned now though and tucked away till next time ![]()
I’ve got that on the Tiger - very impressive indeed. Like you say, always sure footed and planted. Brilliant.
I don’t know what your roads are like, but we have such a mixture of road surfaces here, from smooth and bumpy, to almost dangerously rough and broken, to smooth and immaculate. It seems to do well on them all, set and forget type of thing. Love it
it’s no magic carpet, I imagine the tiger is probably more comfortable with its longer travel, this is a sporty bike at the end of the day but it is a fantastic compromise on a variety of surfaces!
+1 for semi-active suspension, it’s the only thing that really impressed when I had the 2013 Multistrada. And just back from 3 weeks away fully loaded and pillioned on the S1000XR even more impressive with another 10yrs development.
Time Triumph put it on the Speed Triple (although that’s never going to be loaded with panniers and pillion).
What is active suspension exactly?
