Today I have mostly been

I went to my first ever VJMC Hampshire meet today on the RD350 LC2. Lots of old 2-strokes and 4-strokes but not a Triumph in sight!

Here are some of my favourite bikes (including mine of course). :sunglasses:

I’d quite happily find space in my garage for two or three of those.

About time.

I think many were both surprised and disappointed Garner didn’t go to prison. Probably more important has any of the money been recovered for his victims?

Disappointed certainly, but not really surprised. White collar criminals always seem to get off lightly in this country. It’s working class criminals that generally get jail time. Look at the 2008 banking crash, look at the Grenfell fire, look at the Post Office scandal: no-one even looks like going to jail for any of those.

Today has been a very odd and extremely sad day. One of my colleagues who was also a friend died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday and was four years younger than me so it was a sombre day at work. It certainly does make you reflect.

Sorry to hear that Mrs V. It’s strange when a co-worker dies suddenly

Exactly that. He really wanted to ride a bike as well and had just about persuaded his wife to let him take the first steps.

That’s really sad. How old was he?

Only 42 years old :open_mouth:.

How awful. And terrible for his wife. It really makes you value what you have, or should do. Carpe diem.

Yes, he had three children too. Devastating for them all.

Life can be really cruel.

Reality can be very sobering sometimes. I suppose the lesson must be, don’t put things off until tomorrow, and let’s remember that we ride because it helps us feel alive.

Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you die.

42 is no age, especially these days. His poor wife and children must be devastated. As you say it certainly makes you think about our own situation and how it can so easily change.

I hope not, I’m playing in the old gits batting championship on Thursday and have already paid my entry fee…

I do admire an optimist :hourglass:

I know, all those years of training just to fit loads of old people with a new pair of spectacles
