Today I have mostly been

Learnt summat today. I now actually know what a ‘railcar’ is after travelling on the Llangollen steam railway. Thought all vintage diesel trains were same format but then i realised the railcar is actually a motorised carriage dooh!

Full of snot. Bastid feckin cold, I’ve got the full monty now, had it for over a week and it’s getting worse, not better. The last couple of days will likely be the last decent days we have this year so I’m not amused being laid up. I’ve had to cancel my covid and flu jabs which I was supposed to have today at the surgery too, but at least there’s plenty of chemists I can go to once I recover.

There’sa lot of it about up here too, with a gert big wave of Covid too!

I’ve had loads of sympathy though. SWMBO said yesterday what a lovely day it was and I could have been out on my bike if I’d not been feeling so bad. Thanks for that!

Am I right in thinking on the other side of the aquaduct there’s no footpath or railing just a sheer drop? If so that’d get my clacker going :scream:

That’s a fair assessment

Cycled a circuitous route to get some chain lube and spotted this lurking outside the local Morrisons :astonished:

I saw that parked up on Friday

I didn’t know Morrisons sold ferries.

They sell Redferries, Blackferries and Blueferries in the fruit section but I didn’t know they sold Whiteferries too

Not sure this is the right section to put this so feel free to move it Saul. Just watched the 24 hour motorcycle record attempt on the 1200 Tiger. Talk about driven!

Electric start removed, casing apertures plates made and mounted. New undrilled slide into carb, rejetted and rebuilt to remove Dynojet stage one bollox, battery tray welded up and mounted. Oil change. New chain ordered and wheels mounted with posh new Shinko E270.

And it started with a kick. A bit of fettling on the carb to do but pleased that this one is nearly there now. :stuck_out_tongue:

It goes where I posted it last year🙂

Well worth a watch for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.

Incidentally, this is a reason to start new threads rather then pushing everything in to an endless, meandering topic. The forum software looks for similarity within titles to help avoid double-posting and guide comments to existing topics.

If in doubt, just use the Riding category for stuff when you’re not sure. The Speakeasy is for non-biking content.

New chain on and adjusted. Farting around with emulsion tubes and jets. Then Fedex comes with another wheel rim for the Triumph build.

Bloody nice 2.5x19 40 hole shouldered ally rim. Again keeping the spend under £135 meant no probs with import and delivered in a week from Italy. Good job.

And a cheapo CV carb to try. Heard good things about these at about £40 instead of a Harley £400 and from looking just about the same but without the logo. Got some bits with it (sparkplugs, cleaning wires, hoses, filter) that need to go in the bin.
Might as well try it out…

Just back from a Weekend in Glasgow. Went down on Friday to see Dr Feelgood with these guys. Great night out, St Lukes, next to the Barrowlands, is a pleasant venue too. Spent Saturday walking around Glasgow good food and company then left early to get up the road Sunday morning.
Went down via Aviemore and Pitlochery, Aberfeldy, Kenmore, rained all day. Then home via Stirling, Perth and Braemar, dry all the way home.

Place was full of old guys.
