After reading the recommendation from @DCS222 about Blea Tarn I took the Benelli for a very wet spin up there this morning. Even in iffy weather it’s a lovely spot!

Love it!
Did you go as far as the cattle grid? That’s the money shot!

That second photo is a lovely moody shot. It’s just lacking a motorcycle to make it perfect

Got to the car park. Was going to go right over to Great Langdale but my arse was wet through due to spray and was starting to shiver!

I was sat on it at the time, does that help?

This was earlier this year, when it was too cold for the motorcycle… :joy:

I’ve mostly been keeping my fingers crossed…
In 2018 I came across a high risk stock on AIM that I thought I would have a little flutter on.
It’s been up and down like a fiddlers elbow but I’ve had to stay in as the stock price went down and down below my entry price. But I kept the faith rather than bail out and fingers crossed it may come good this week. Not life changing amounts but a nice little earner if it comes in.
Fingers crossed til the news drops later this week. ( I feckin hope…!)

We were working late tonight on a holiday cottage changeover, and didn’t leave until nearly midnight. As always when driving home on country roads at night, I was driving at a moderate speed, keeping a good lookout for nocturnal animals like badgers and foxes, which we see quite often. It was just as well, as a mile or two west of Dumfries I had to brake for an otter crossing the road. I’d seen coastal otters on the seashore before, but never seen an otter so far inland, and quite a long way from the nearest watercourse. Apparently river otters are largely nocturnal, and sometimes travel quite long distances on land, which I had no idea about. Anyway, that was quite exciting, and one more creature to keep an eye out for at night.

I love otters, just lovely creatures! But they’re a menace in my home town at the moment…

British local press at its best….

“Around three weeks ago, Nige was awoken by the sound of a high-pitched ‘squeal’ ………(which came from his wife at around 2.30am.”)

I thought it was going to be the sound of the otters, not his wife…!

And then you get “ Ben Potterton” the Otter man…"!

Classic stuff.

They must think it’s Christmas: all those kind people leaving generous food supplies out for them in special pools in their gardens…

Dug out my mountain bike as it’s not been used for a while. Rode through the lanes and up to the trig point on Birkrigg common. Beautiful day in Cumbria

Today I’ve be wondering why I’m not out in the sun riding my bike and instead chose to do housework then solder a couple of thousand connections.

After missing yesterday’s bonnie weather in the first half of the day, I nipped out on the TDM this morning for a couple of hours whilst erindoors was trying to sleep off an infection (lot of it about atm :mask:)
So I tootled up to Coniston, Ambleside, Windermere, Stavely, Kendal, Crook, Gummers Howe, Newby Bridge and home again. I couldn’t believe how much traffic is still kicking about! No photos, so in some people’s minds, I didn’t do it… I guess they chose the blue pill!
