Tigger’s all loaded up, ready for departure early tomorrow morning. The first leg will take me to Vesoul, France where I booked a hotel. The next day I will arrive in Aix-Les-Bains, where I’ll meet up with @hubaxe.
Ride safe, see you on Sunday !!
Beers are in the fridge
I’m certain I’ll be thirsty!
Hey, save some beers for Monday for me! (Assuming I head to Italy tomorrow that’s when I should meet you.)
Froffy bits!
Ride safe Wim and have a great trip. Say hi to the guys from me when you see them.
Day 1, 661km. 413 miles
Left the house at 6.30, made good progress.
2 hours later I was well into Belgium.
Stopped off in Luxembourg for cheap fuel and fags, then continued on motorways until I got to Nancy. That was 500 kilometres on motorways done, took me 6 hours. The last 161 took me 3 hours, but were an absolute delight.
Tiny country lanes through gorgeous rural countryside.
Now arrived at digs, waiting for check-in…
Well done that man, not a bad shift for day 1…
I’m not a big Moretti fan, but it’s better than the pretend Stella and 1664 shite we get in England. Well earned though!
Enjoy those lanes
If I can at all help it there won’t be anymore motorways until the return journey!
Nor am I, but it was what they served and it was COLD! 29C out here…
Is that what @Dawsy had at Hinckley?
So obviously after such a strenuous day I needed a healthy dinner…
Started off with a lovely Ceasar’s with freshly smoked chicken…
Then some more chicken with roast veg…
Finished off with a nice raspberry ice cream…
All accompanied by a lovely half bottle of Chardonnay…
No we were on Madri. Had several more after the tour, just to stop it going off:beer:
Enjoy your trip all of you!
No slumming for you then Wim. Food looks excellent
Excellent! The French vegetarian option…
Day two. 298 kilometres, 186 miles
Fortunately the day didn’t start like yesterday ended… Massive rainstorm (sorry can’t upload video).
After a nice breakfast I set off around 9.00.
Lovely mountain roads. I had to make a 30 kilometre detour as one of my intended roads was blocked, but that just got me onto more nice roads.
Eventually I got to Lake Geneva around noon, where it started to drizzle.
From there I made my way to @hubaxe 's, where I was welcomed with a great lunch. A lovely afternoon was had, the day topped off with a fabulous dinner.
Lunch pause un Samoens. Weill the sign said it was that city. Rain and fog didn’t let us see a lot of it.
