Well I’ve been into ysbuty (hospital) and had my titanium rods fitted fusing 3 vertebrae together (on my birthday) so im a little bit tender to say the least. They released me into the care of the amazing Mrs W as she’s a very experienced staff nurse. Ive had plates and pins and bone grafts before but this is a very strange sensation indeed. I shouldn’t really gripe because i needed it done but the pain is off the scale currently so thats my gripe.
And I thought I was having a difficult morning…
I hope the meds deal with the pain and discomfort and wish you the speediest of recoveries, Pat!
Get well soon Pat, enjoy the meds.
Thanks gents, no painkillers, im going painkiller free as my body needs to know what to do, i can ruin my recovery by overdoing things so it’s no bending, lifting or twisting at the moment but I’m getting around…slowly…
Be sure and take it easy Pat, time enough to do stuff, make sure you’re right first. ![]()
Sorry to hear the need for internal fixation… at least it’s titanium ![]()
All the best for your recovery
Get well soon @PatW don’t tell your bike insurance about the titanium mods ![]()
My back hurts just looking at that!
Wooo that looks very sore. Get well soon @PatW
The worst part is having them out where the skin grows around them…
Aargh, no, stop! ![]()
I wonder if the surgon will thank your tattoo artist for the very accurate guide lines ![]()
When they screwed my knee together a junior doctor came round at about 3 am and drew a fuck off great arrow down my leg. I think being plastered up to my gonads was a bit of a clue really…![]()
I had that tattoo done in Indonesia about 40 years ago with a bone stick, i had it inked over in a slightly less glamorous location, Trowbridge wilts.
Doctors are paranoid, they have made loads of mistakes down the years including amputation of the wrong limb so it’s sharpies to the rescue…
Hopefully the pain and discomfort will be short term pain for long term gain.
Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery … that means telling your other half you have to buy a Speed T. in order to completely and successfully recover!! ![]()
I actually had an 03 speed triple, nuclear red which as you probably know was actually bright metallic pink WA03 BYY. I got it dirt cheap as nobody wanted that colour, i did see a Daytona in that colour too.
Oooohhhh … that colour used to be known as “DOG PECKER PINK” by a 'Merkan friend of mine. I always thought it was THE BUSINESS - as was its companion colour FROGSNOT GREEN. Great bikes in great colours.
We digress. Be well. ![]()
Wishing you a swift recovery @PatW (and a happy birthday of course, but I am sure you can celebrate that once you can get your dancing shoes on again!!).
Ive had my cake, mrs W baked coffee and Pecan yum
