Richmond yesterday (that’s the mediaeval market town in North Yorkshire, nothing to do with London). Famous for it’s market square and 12th century castle towering above the river Swale.
The castle was last used during the First World War as a prison for conscientious objectors.
Stopped off at Easby Abbey on the way home. Dates from 1152 but rather spoilt by that old rascal Henry VIII in 1537.
The access road is single track, downhill and was covered in slush, ice and running water - once committed 
No doubt cold but the low winter sun makes for some lovely photos. Helped enormously by the general beauty of North Yorkshire.

But I was in Pitlochry… and missed the best of it… but as you can see, Scotland was pretty good to me anyway!
Anyone I know that went to Lisboa says it’s wonderful.

Not been out with a camera for nearly a year (or doing much else outside of work) but last weekend I did for the first time with decent results.
