I was down at our holiday cottage yesterday, helping my wife with a changeover. The house looks over the tidal estuary of the River Nith. Hearing an approaching roaring noise, I grabbed my phone and got this shot of the tidal bore coming up the river. It’s interesting to see the incoming tide flowing over the top of the outgoing river current.
Lovely morning on what is set to be the hottest day of the year for us. The gorgeous North Antrim Coast, one before sunrise and one after.
Do you ever sleep @Andyc1
Lovely pictures though.
Off for 2 weeks, its great! Awful inconvenience working
Yes got to agree with that……
Tour of Coniston? Beautiful! Not been on my cycle for almost two weeks due to Covid
Unlucky…
I was actually riding to see my old folks in Rusland valley, went over via Greenodd, back via Lowick. Lovely evening
Nice little route for a summer evening (jealous )
I took this one today of Swaffham wind turbine. There’s a viewing platform at the top about 220ft (67 metres) up. I had the opportunity to go up it a couple of years ago - there’s a spiral staircase inside consisting of 305 steps. Definitely the longest staircase I’ve ever been up. From the top you can see Ely cathedral which is about 25 miles away as the crow flies, which just shows how flat East Anglia is!
Sadly, it’s closed to the public now.
Space rocket from our local park!! Don’t think there’s a single astronaut in it but could be sea men
We were out on the water yesterday. Just as I was contemplating Full Speed Ahead, a sea plane decided to land ‘just in front’ of us. Never experienced that before.
Check the top carving, I think it’s a wood pecker, boom boom
Me and Mrs W, halfway up Cwm Rhaeder waterfall, that’s Llyn y Fan and the beacons behind my big ugly head, lovely walk today
Swaffham is closed? About time too! (Ps, Wisbech/east anglia lad so i can say that!)
Only closed if you’re driving an HGV. There’s a house falling down on London Road so a one-way is in place with a weight restriction on the road.
I see water, but no swimmer…
