Mileage in 2024 and plans for 2025

From 01st January 2024 to 31st December 2024 I rode 13825 miles on motorcycles. Yes I am sad enough to keep a log :flushed:.

9082 of those were on my Street Triple (including 2300 miles on our trip to Jerez).
4137 of those were on my Fireblade (which wasn’t ridden until the end of April as it was off the road whilst the fairings were painted).
606 of those were on a Honda NC750 on our Canaries trip.

I had some miscellaneous miles on the Kawasaki ZX4RR   and the 2024 Fireblade SP too.

For 2025 I would like to do some more touring and camping as I really enjoyed the three solo camping trips I did on my rest days from work this year and the trips to Gran Canaria and Spain were brilliant. I have also booked two track instruction days in May and July with Rapid Training.

What did everyone else do in 2024 and what are your hopes and plans for 2025?

I did 1100 miles on my Speed Triple, 600 miles on my previous Tiger, and 3500 miles on the new one. That should have been many more, but obviously that wasn’t to be, however I’m grateful to have got these miles done.

This year I’m planning a trip to Ireland in May, two weeks to the Vercors, France with the mrs., and a tour around the Baltic in August.

Roll on spring!

I’ve just done a 10k service on my Speedmaster which was 10,018 miles since the last one on January 7th 2024. Those miles included two not wholly successful trips to the European Alps.

In May this year I’m going to Spain, and in September I’ll probably head to the Scottish Highlands or maybe a 3rd attempt at the Alps (which isn’t really any further and has cheaper and more available accommodation than Scotland.)

In between the big tours I’ll fit in a Wales trip and Yorkshire/Cumbria trip when weather opportunities are favourable.

Hopefully you’ve not got any lasting effects or pain? Wishing you and Mrs V a fantastic 2025 both on and off two wheels :slightly_smiling_face:.

Wishing you a great 2025 - third time lucky for the Alps in terms of fewer adverse events I hope!

That is properly impressive :+1:

I haven’t kept notes but I think I probably did about 2500 across three different bikes, so very poor :slightly_frowning_face:

The plan for 2025 is to do much better including a couple of UK based tours.

Hopefully the weather will be much better this year too!! Enjoy your tour planning :slightly_smiling_face:.

Some small inconveniences still, but nothing bad enough to stop me riding!

I didn’t track my mileage in 2024 but it wasn’t anything spectacular. This year we’re hoping for a long distance trip or two, possibly Croatia, and I have an idea budding for the Spring that will certainly add some miles.

I’m already looking forward to hearing about the tours people will be taking in 2025!

Croatia sounds fantastic!

I stayed near Dubrovnik about eight years ago and have always said I’d like to go back on a bike. I’m not involved in planning the trip so we’ll have to see whether it comes off.

Not many on the Speed Triple cos it got traded in March,

For the MT10, 5000 miles approx (slightly more but I’m not going to look ).

Never left Scotland. Did a week with Dougie, 4 weekends away, Oban twice Skye and Glasgow.
Booked Scotland for 5 nights in July and I’m looking at a few nights away for bands this year too. Bike is awesome and really think I scored by buying a Super-Naked that can be ridden all day.
MrsVisor, thats impressive, I dont bet, but I do think Steve Lovatt will take the top milage.

Undoubtedly  .

Being very competitive is a negative trait that is strong in me…but even I didn’t intend this one as a competition . That said, a positive trait is that I am gracious in defeat :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

It is! I really enjoyed riding through it.

Just over 500 miles on my (much missed, I have to admit) Honda CB500X then, since May, just under 3,000 miles on my Speed 400, including a great few days away covering 320 miles around the Mull of Kintyre.

So, around 3,500 miles this year, a bit less than my usual 4,500 - 5,000 annual mileage.

Must try harder in 2025… but will it be on a Triumph? :hushed:

What else is in the pipeline?

I think we have just started a 2025 competition!

Start logging those miles and let’s see what the league table looks like through the year.

It is in for repair after my bump, and I’m still kind of undecided on what I’ll do when it comes back…

Ride it, trade it, or take a break from biking based on… well… I’m getting old and maybe it’s time for a change!

I’ll see how I feel in the Spring.
