Well i’ve not lived in the posh south like you, I still call tea tea just as it was for you when you were a kid. However, Steve I believe (did you get that bit of rhyming ?) lived down south for a bit and now mistakenly calls his tea “dinner”. So, I think calling that place a bit too posh for him is a bit of an insult to be honest. So, should we three ever meet up again ( I hope so) I will gladly hold your coats.
Of course, now you’re back up North you may become re-educated ?
I doubt that the old bugger would be insulted too much. 
As to posh, I went to Bettys Tearooms on Tuesday so I can talk (we had lunch)
Would be good to meet up next year
