T120 Project

Sorry to hear about your tank issues, dude, but I guess there’s a phrase involving omelettes and cracked eggs? Looks like it’s going along nicely otherwise?

Didn’t do much as I actually went out today! I’m off out again tomorrow to the West Country Chopper Biker Bash thingy at the Motion in Bristol - Good grief, careful…

It’s up on it’s feet anyway.

Slowly getting things back together. I wasn’t at the chopper show thing for longer than about 10 minutes, (nearly didn’t go in when they didn’t want £1 cash, it had to be £1 on a card or phone, jeez) too many cuts and colours, music too loud, miles too dark to see anything inside and the bikes were, well, meh…it all seems to be about something else these days.

I think I’m going back to being a lonesome hippy…cosmic man, where’s the half inch spanner :squinting_face_with_tongue: Really needs something on that tank

Yep, it’s what happens as we get old(er).

Certainly older. I quite like being a pensioner as the younger generation ignore me (no one has offered help me across the road but hopefully there’s time yet).

Bought one of these to help tidy up the wiring when I get onto it. I tried to find something that wasn’t from China but it’s pretty hard to find anything these days.

I made a nice place for it next to battery tray and coils

And I’ve also labelled up the fuses

I like an auto pilot so I can watch the countryside go by. :slightly_smiling_face:

Wiring all done. A few bits and bobs to sort next week once the spares arrive. Still gotta try to cover the seat (I think that may be a bit of a bugger).

So, starting the paint again.

Takes ages trying to line up the line. The cranked kickstart may be an issue diggin in me leg when changing gear. I may have to find one with a knuckle to get passed the zorst - or I could shorten the zorsts and fit a normal kickstart. Let’s get it going first

Oi! I’ll have you know I was made in China, and I’ve lasted quite well so far.

Looks like it was painted with a brush…

Clear coat on. Will give it a week or so and do some sanding and polishing.

Rigged up some temporary HT leads and we have a spark Houston. :white_check_mark:

Thanks Chaps. Quite pleased with it and looking forward to giving it a rip. Should be good torque due to the longer rods and being black will obviously be the fastest and ice cool.
(Assuming it works )

With a large dollop of help from the Admin Staff (well I mostly watched) the seat is all done and affixed.

Mange tout, mange tout. Good job methinks

Extra sprinkles on her hot chocolate tonight methinks!

Bike looks fabulous and I bet it sounds awesome with that short pipe. Any chance of a video of the engine runnng?

It’ll be a week or so as I need to polish the tank before I tap it to the carb. HT leads, brakes, timing etc but as soon as I can get it going, keep your fingers crossed, I’ll do a short video and get it on utube. Well, I think I know how to :slightly_smiling_face:

Polishing cowl and tank. Never one of my favourite things to do as I can get over enthusiastic and sand through the lacquer

Once all the orange peel is gone then it can be polished

Never perfect, but not bad. It’ll take a bit more polishing but blimey, it’s a boring thing to do,

Agreed, and I’d personally add - ‘originality of thought, ideas and execution’.
