TDM 900 out and about

Long week working from a windowless cupboard is finally at an end… and I have 2 weeks annual leave… so to celebrate, I did my westies-testies route. Head out of Ulverston, up the west side of Windermere to Hawkshead, Bob over the hill to Coniston, down the west side of Coniston water to Lowick, then up to Gawthwaite and back to Ulverston.

A great little tour with a touch of nearly everything and nice for testing new gear. (More of that later)

Yeah, I don’t tire of it; sometimes the muppets I get to share it with however…

Oh how true :joy:

Took my lad a backie round south lakes… including the excellent Lyth valley road and a sunset stop at Langdale.

Today it certainly was

Good bikes, TDMs. Here’s a photo of mine, taken near home in March 2015. I eventually traded it in for my Street Twin, but it gave me a lot of fun for several years, though.

A rare but pleasant event… my lovely wife got on the back for a quiet bimble around and a swim in Coniston. Getting her on and off was “entertaining” but worth it, as she did enjoy it! We stopped at a local pub for a lemonade and this steam Lorry turned up and said “Hi!”

Brilliant that you both got out :+1:. That steam lorry is a beaut too.

MOT today, no problem, no advisories

An unorganised (last minute ask) ride out today with my buddy on his Guzzi tt… 60 miles back lane pottering around Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere. No pics, no great adventure or story… just an enjoyable ride on slightly greasy roads!

I was round that way last Sunday. Hawkshead Hill was really scary :grimacing:

Just back from a 90 odd mile pootle up to Keswick and back on a circuitous route. Bright sunshine, heavy showers… dry roads, wet roads, leafy roads… potholes, tramlines, polished surfaces, gravel banks… felt like a mini-workout !!!
I found that the confidence I have on dry and wet roads is decimated with any sign of detritus… riding like a right fanny (but I’m still riding, right?)!!!

Wet leaf litter is the worst! No prizes for not getting home.

Better to ride like a fanny than be the poor c*nt under a lorry.

Brave man (and nice photos), getting much the same down here, got out a couple of times last week, thinking the bikes might not be out again till spring now.
