Things that yank your chain

They’re asking for £29 on the Shelter TV advert, that should be the Government’s job Ffs!

They’re spending 7 million a day to shelter immigrants in hotels… another 29 quid aint gonna make much difference

Any charity that can put fancy expensive adverts on tv or give you cuddly toys etc won’t get any money from me.

Where’s bono and geldof and them wankers? Joey Dunlop, there was a man who loaded up the van and drove across europe and gave to those who needed it and he wasn’t looking publicity either!

Yeah, they raised £150 million but couldn’t be arsed to drive to Africa. Wankers.

Of other peoples money

I like to think of it as other people’s voluntary donations. Both endeavours are meritorious. Everyone wins here. :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s £29 per person FYI.

Well, yes, I do agree to a point. But at the same time I find them a bit self-righteous. They’re very good at telling people to donate their money and bask in their righteousness and their multi million bank accounts. I don’t like that

It’s like that crap TV show “celebrity” pointless. Several rich people doing a tedious game to win 2500 quid for charity when they probably have that much in their arse pocket and get paid for doing it :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I agree he could afford to pull a few more banknotes out his own pocket as well.He supports a lot of charities but I’ve no idea what he put in monetarily. It shouldn’t detract from the advocacy but it does invite accusations of hypocrisy, which is a shame as the poor sods in Africa (or wherever) are just looking for some help.

And back round to the big charities… I wonder how much actually gets to where its needed after the board of directors gets their share, the corruption in Africa etc?

And the do-gooder celebrities that get sponsored to go on an all expenses trip to these places to show us how poor they are and tug at our heart strings. I’ll never give to big charities!

Police incompetence never ceases to annoy me. Could it be that hard? Who in the neighbourhood has recently purchased 4600 lime slices and 500 liters of tonic, goddammit!

Quite literally, a chain was yanked!

Zero interest in poofball, only world cup I’ve seen is on the news. But saw this, while browsing the internet news.
Love a bit of Anglo-French relations.
Entente cordiale

In my experience of a new office build in Paris in the 90’s most of the French employees hated AirCon. There was almost a revolt and we ended up having to have a compromise of allowing windows to be opened as well as having aircon (well that’s going to work well then). They blamed aircon for all sorts of illness. Never had the same issues anywhere else. Good to see they’re still at it.
