I had this happen back in the late 70’s - I had rebuilt a 60’s Honda CB72 250 and two motorcycle cops pulled me over. I used to keep a chain around my neck, so opened my jacket to get it out of the way…
“You won’t need that” they said, “we just wanted a look at your bike!”
