TMF Annual Awards 2024

It’s back! The annual TMF awards, where we recognise the people who stoof out in 2024. A forum is just a bit of software without the contributions of its members, after all. Each winner will receive a special badge on their profile, whether they like it or not, to prove their awesomeness.

And so to our first award…

Most Liked Member

Fame! Fortune! None of these things will follow if you’re the winner of this year’s award for being the most ‘liked’ person of 2024. But you will be entitled to wear a smug grin throughout 2025. And so, the award for this year goes to… @Vulpes with a whopping 2640 likes from fellow forum members. Chapeau, sir!

Most Viewed Motorcycling Thread

Well this is awkward. The winner of this year’s award for the most viewed topic about bikes is not about a Triumph. But it does show that we all like to follow the trials and tribulations of getting an old bike running properly. This award goes to … @DanielB for Honda NTV650. Well done, Daniel. Now sell that Honda and buy a proper motorcycle.

Nice Guy Award

If you can’t say anything nice just click the ‘like’ button, as my ol’ Mum used to say. Or at least she would’ve done if she’d known how to switch on her computer. In 2024, one person has done more to boost our egos than any other. Ladies and gentlemen, the nicest person in the room was officially… @Vulpes. Your appreciation is much appreciated.

Top Referred Topic

Because the internet was invented to be without virtual walls, TMF is searchable and readable by any and all netizens (unlike some social media sites we could mention…). Handily, it’s possible to count those clicks coming in. So, which topic got the most interest this year? Dave Day was a big event for bikers in the UK and that had a fair amount of views but the winner of the award goes to… @RobShak for his entry, Short Rider options for Scrambler 400x. Well done Mr Shak. Come back and post again soon, you’re obviously good at this.

Prolific Reader Award

In an attempt to distract from the real reason for his poor eyesight, one member has perused more posts in 2024 than anyone else. Stand up and follow the sound of my voice as you make your way to the stage…@AdieP! Now, off to Specsavers with you.

Content Provider Award

Like many things in life, a forum must be broad, not just long. Dining room tables, for instance. I can’t think of any other examples. In 2024, one man provided welcome girth to TMF by creating the most new topics of anyone, bringing pleasure to casual readers and busy search engines. Take a bow…@Alfie!

The Everyone Award

If you weren’t one of the lucky recipients of a special award this year, don’t worry. No one goes home empty-handed.* The Everyone Award is for you as a contributing member of TMF. You’ve added over 8,700 posts, created 594 topics (56 of you for the first time - welcome) that generated 48,000 clicks from our favourite search engines, and mingled among the crowd of members - including 150 new faces - who collectively visited the forum over 10,000 times. But it didn’t stop there, with a total of 165,000 page views from people all around the world. Thank goodness for the internet because that would be a lot of photocopy paper.

To all members, old and new, and to everyone else reading this, a very Happy New Year and thank you, one and all, for making this place what it is. Enjoy the ride in '25. And don’t forget to tell us all about it.

I’m humbled by these two most appreciated awards… Thanks people, for being supportive and caring when I needed it, and for advice and tips when asked for. I truly love our little community, long may it continue!

A big thanks to Saul too, always on the ball, and keeping us in check!

Cheers all!

HNY everyone.

I simply can not BELIEVE I have won an award.

What a truely humbling thing, thank you! I’m only here because it’s the best forum on the internet - Triumph owner or not…being still part of the family means a lot.

I do still hanker after a Triumph Triple of some description. Who knows, there may yet be a battered 900 Trophy out there with my name on it in 2025.

Have a good one, all.

xx

Happy New Year to all on this special forum.

Well, I didn’t see that coming. I am only a small cog in this fantastic place. I am only doing what I like to do. There is so much to see in the country and being retired I intend to see as much as possible and report back my findings,

I will bask in the glory of the award and take a well deserved holiday to New Zealand and Australia. I will check in when I can and I hope you will all be here when I return.
