I did VERY much like the fuel consumption of a 125!! How do you like the bike? They’re very smart (to me) and when I sat on one it gave quite a “big bike” feel.
I now have some antibiotics and stronger painkillers. One of the abscesses I turned out to have burst whilst waiting for my prescription, so that brought a fair bit of pain relief in itself
.
Yeah I’ve enjoyed riding it, it’s a hoot, knee down around the llangadog roundabout, just never touch the brakes or the momentum disappears ![]()
Have you mentioned to Mrs W that this is the best technique to use when she rides it?
Hope it settles down soon Mrs HV, toothache is a right royal PITA
100% but not in ordinary jeans like me ![]()
Lazy lunch up in the mountains of Crete. What an island. Most you hear about is the boozy resorts of Malia and how seedy they are but get away from the commercial parts and it remains unspoilt. It truly is a magical place.
Today I have worked from home so no bike commute. I worked out how to set the shift light on my Blade. I have never seen it on - not surprised as it was set towards the top of the redline. I’d be halfway to the moon and well beyond my skill set and license - keeping ability at that. Maybe one day on a track…
The first wheelie is always an accident ![]()
I have done a tiny accidental one that would have taken a digital micrometer gauge to measure
. Baby steps
.
Most of mine were accidental - and frightening! ![]()

I like the idea of wheelie school to learn them in a controlled way - it looks fun in that environment.
Told you! ![]()
Especially on someone else’s bike…
Exactly that.
I want to do that as well. There’s one up near York, about an hour away for me. Looks like a hoot.
Not today but yesterday, after a hard day watching the sidecar race and the supersport at the TT, my highlight was spending time with my two granddaughters so I took them to Mrs Yang’s Chinese restaurant by the waterfront in Douglas.
I can highly recommend this place for quality Chinese food.
Today I had a lovely commute on the Blade, apart from all the lunatics out in their cars on my way home. The “drive everywhere at 40 or die club” were joined on a run out by the “pull out of junctions in front of people then panic” club. At least they had lovely weather for their joint event
.
Then I got home, swapped bikes and took the Street Triple to a bike night, joined by Helmut on his Nightstorm (pics to follow when I have them, Helmut took them). I have to admit that I absolutely love the Blade and really enjoy riding it but the pure fun factor of the the Street Triple is just so grin - inducing

They are everywhere. A couple of days ago I was driving my van along the A75 at about 60mph, and saw a small white hatchback waiting to emerge from a side road on my right. It edged forward, presumably saw me coming, hesitated, and then moved quite slowly out across my path and turned right. I leaned on my horn and swerved round it. If they’ll do that to a van, what hope have motorcyclists got?
Out on the tiger yesterday driving on a dual carriageway. Making progress in the right hand lane and a twat in a family SUV flicked on his indicator and started to move out into my lane as I got along side. A heart stopping moment for me, he sees me and quickly pulled back in; phew ![]()
Could have been very messy.
