Today I have been waiting for updates and first impressions on all these new top line bikes that have been purchased
Any word?
I have been riding my bike.
I utter the same two words every time I get off mine… FU@K ME!!!
just done it 15mins ago
And I forgot how good the S22’s are
I took the Yamaha RD350LC2 down to Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum today for their annual 2-Stroke meet. Lots of classic bikes and some pretty cool scooters too ![]()
In my youth, there was a Moto Rumi dealer nearby, and as a young teenager I really fancied a Formichino scooter until a friend got a Royal Enfield Crusader Sport (maroon and chrome), which turned me forever towards motorbikes. However, I could still fancy a Formichino scooter to play with, although now quite rare and relatively expensive. Definitely the most stylish scooter in my opinion.
That’s pretty funky ![]()
Yeah, a nippy little 125cc two stroke twin, with its engine in the right place, unlike most scooters. Probably a lot of fun. Maybe when I get too old to climb aboard a proper bike…
Adverts Always had a bird sat on the back sidesaddle with a galois stuck nonchalantly on her lip and the bloke on the front had hushpuppies and a reinforced elbow tweed sports jacket.
FTFY …
It’s a long time since I lived down that way but I’d like to have gone to that meet.
Our recent Saudi guests have just emailed us a YouTube video showing how to make it. Apparently it’s an Arab national dish called Kabsa. Plenty of recipes on the internet. I highly recommend it, and will certainly have a go at making it myself some time.
I had 15 mins headstart on my commute today (for some reason?
) so I bimbled round the Furness lanes, avoiding the silage contractors
. (Even came through Newton @Dawsy… why’s the road past the Abbey closed? It’s been like that for ages now?)
Not a bad way to relax before a shift
Ordered a front wheel chock thing for the bike lift and it came the next day from Amazonian. (While Royal Mail is getting worse and worse overpay for 48hr parcel force delivery and get it two weeks later)
Got it from VidaXL (Dutch company) who make garden furniture but it’s made from 3mm steel and well heavy.
Needed bolting down with some bolts from the stash but looks to be pretty good. Bike still needs to be strapped down as it’s a bit wobbly in the stand (I don’t think it would actually come out but I don’t want the bike moving about at a height where I would have to catch it) ![]()
The road by the Abbey Mill cafe crosses a little beck and is unsafe. Only shut for about 10yards (how old is that term?
). Can squeeze through on the push iron.
I’ve got lots of furniture from VidaXL - good stuff generally. I did not know they did bike stuff as well.
Ended up taking Lola for a walk today, she’s a really sweet dog but can be a bit stubborn. Then I have to use my secret weapons, treats
Roughly preparing the routes for the first 7 days of my upcoming trip to the Balkans.
Down here in Cornwall the tourists are referred to as “emmets” (being ant like). Today has also been ideal conditions for flying ants, swarms of them everywhere, so we’ve mostly been indoors hiding from both varieties.

Can’t the flying variety be charged an arm and a leg for their accommodation like the others? ![]()
