Watching the Scottish play by the RSC.
Paying my £100 fine and getting my first 3 points in 36 years 80 in a 70 on a straight dual carriageway with little to no traffic in a hire car
must be the safety aspect they want to enforce
No option of a naughty course and no points? At that speed you were well within the guidlines to be offered one. SWMBO has done 2, last one was in a 50 mph zone on a motorway over the christmas/new year holiday taking the MIL back to Cornwall. “There were no workmen on site and everyone was going faster than me” says she. Well they’ll all be going on the course too then says I. That went down well…
No option at all, Gloucester Police camera operators clearly didn’t like me
Today I have been decorating. SWMBO wanted the back room painting. I think I’ll get used to the colour she said (she chose them) You’ll have plenty of time to as I won’t be doing it again for another 7 years says I. I know how to impress a lady…
Maybe because you were in a hire car so this had a part to play - they could have written to the hire company who dragged their heels in replying?
The original offence was May
Anyone else turned the central heating on yet? I sat here a couple of hours ago and the temperature had gone down to 16 degrees…so I bit the bullet and pressed boost
Hailstones here last night. I kid you not.
Yup. We had them yesterday and frost on the cars this morning
No, but fired up the woodburner for the first time last night
Iced up cars and a frost here this morning as well. Broke out my running gloves for the first time since last winter this morning too.
Cold here, though no frost yet. Lit the stove a couple of weeks ago, and kept it going ever since, until the spring comes again. Depressing.
No, but I closed the curtains earlier
Was that for a different reason
Cold here in Cheshire this morning, but to be honest the central heating has been coming on for an hour or so for the last couple of weeks.
I put it on a couple of days ago. Also had it on a few weeks ago before the recent warm spell negated the need again. (I’m a soft ‘southerner’.)
It must be getting colder: I put a vest on yesterday.
