Today - looking into tyres ready for the Spring, what an exciting life I lead!! My Honda CL500 has 80/20 Dunlop Mixtour tyres and I like the chunky look of them. They handle OK too, at my speeds anyway!
Anyone running 80/20 tyres as road tyres and want to comment or recommend?
I’ve had the Tourance Next and A41s on my GS’ and was pleased with both. The Trail attack 3s have recieved good reviews. The only tyres I haven’t liked were the Michelin Anakees, they had the nickname of Michelin panacies as they lacked feel, especially in the wet. Price might be worth looking into as some tend to do offers through the winter period.
I have the Tourance tyres on my gt pro. Must admit I wasn’t sure about them when the bike was delivered with them. However, have now ridden with them for circa 7000 miles and have been well pleased with them. Good feel from the tyres in both dry and wet conditions.
Having ridden some 27.000 kilometres in 2,5 years with Tourance Next 2 I can vouch for them. Great tyre. I had the Karoo on a courtesy bike recently, and found them to be too noisy.
It’s a guy wire to keep the branch from growing upwards. That branch will be the future directional branch in the design, and the wire will stay on until the branch is set in that position.
I’ve traced a very slow puncture, so it’s new tyre time on Saturday.
The original Dunlop Trailmax Mixtours are not available until at least November, so this time round it’s Metzeler Tourance - similar appearance, good reviews including other owners/other forums, and I’m not a fast, demanding rider, so they’ll do a turn!!
The Tourance are a very good tyre. My tiger gt pre was delivered with them on. I was a bit unsure on them, but having done circa 7000 miles on them I think they are a good tyre.
Injury has kept me immobile for a couple of weeks. Getting there, but not back into the garage just yet so been doing this for one of the Grand kids. She hasn’t seen it yet so don’t tell her…she likes South Park so that’s why he’s in there
I’m also trying to get used to a new computer system (now that Windows has gone all greedy so stuck in the bin) photo manipulation is proving to be a bit tricky until I get used to it
Achilles tendon something or other - hurts like a proper hurty thing and worse if I actually stand on my left foot. But I can get up the stairs now. Garage isn’t that far but no seating and not safe barefoot in there. Properly getting on my nerves, I’ve got bikes to get done.
Thanks for asking tho, it’ll be fine in a week or so - I hope.
(I said that last week too)
Don’t like to see a fellow down… take care good bud and stick with the program… the initial injury is the easiest to heel (excuse the pun) if you reinjure it during healing, can be a bugger. But even totally avulsed tendons can be repaired if there’s enough giblets to get hold of.
