Yesterday actually… Bike show at the NEC.
Not too crowded but apparently the first weekend was mobbed, surprised a few stand holders with the amount of people there. I do love the new RX Speed Triple, shame they don’t do it in a bright colour…
And as for the MV Competizione ….. wow.

The MV is rather pretty

Was there a cut out in the tank of that MV to accommodate a stiffy? Asking for a friend…

The Admin Staff has been helping (well, supervising and guiding) the tidying up of the garage. Lots of room now to get on with the next project…

…under the gaze of Indian Larry. I’ll be sitting and staring with tea for a few months yet.
I’ve a bit of wiring to do on the Bonny before then.

Decided to try and fix my car’s rear washer after trying to use it yesterday without success. It’s an MOT advisiry, but was driving me bonkers, which makes no sense as I rarely use it, which is probably part of the problem.

Anyhoo 1st off was to check the what was/was not working. The pump was making a noise so a walk round the back showed washer fluid over the back bumper. With a little help from SWMBO that was coming out of the jet that cleans the rear reversing camera, every day’s a school day  so off woth the nozzle and clean that out. Tried it without the nozzle in place and no joy so looks like the pipe is blocked somewhere. The thebpanto starts as I begin removing the hatchback internal trim. Finding black popers on a tarmac drive after they’ve sprung off isn’t easy! After a bit of patient pulling the panel comes off so start checking the pipes. SWMBO had gone out by now so more fun trying to discover where the blockage was as you can’t look it the boot and push the washer stalk at the same time. Finally I narrowed it down the a 90 degree plastic elbow assembly inside the hatch lid (the feed goes through the centre of the rear wiper) but poking with varios bits of wire didn’t clear it out so next stage was to get the compressor out and blow the line through. Hurraaah it worked, like a mini volcano all sorts of sh1t flew out the end of the pipe. Tested it with a good flush and put it all back together, only for it to fail again. This time some crud I’d obviously disturbed had blocked the jets up, so off with those and gave the system a good flushing out without the jets in place, seems my car can piss further than I can. Final task was to refit the jets then top up with washer fluid, I’ve increased the concentration from my usual 10% solution to 90% water to 50/50 to see if that helps prevent blockages in future. And breath…
