Cool, I’ve spent a bit of time that way over the years. Will you get to Shenandoah National Park? Also, the Air and Space museum on the way back to Dulles airport is an awesome way to kill a couple of hours :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Today I’ve been getting worked up about algorithmic pricing. Due to stupid websites, I took three attempts to try and buy ferry tickets for a June trip to Europe, and by the third attempt the price had gone from £350 to £450, presumably because my previous attempts had made The Algorithm think those sailings were popular so it could bump the prices.

I refused to be so obviously ripped off so didn’t buy the tickets, but I’ll probably come to regret it when I try again in a week or so, because I doubt the price will go back down and could have risen more or be sold out. (Outward journey is during the TT which from my first trip I know is very busy and gets sold out.)

To increase my anger all the more, the pricing was disingenuously claiming a £60 early booking discount, how can you have a genuine discount on a price that is made up on the spot?

Infuriating. See also, dynamic pricing on Amazon. The price you see can be what they think you’ll pay. Someone sitting next to you looking a the same item may be getting it cheaper.

Typical corporate greed.

@Vulpes, just to rub your nose in it a bit more, we are flying to Egypt next week for a Nile cruise. Celebrating our 70th birthdays last week and fulfilling a dream.

If you’re off to sunnier climes there will no doubt be a lucky man on quite a few of the tees to sell you your golf balls back to you the day after you lost them

After a dark spell (my solar panels have yielded nothing for 10 days, which is unheard of) finally a bright, sunny day. So I took advantage and made the dog happy…
