Today I have mostly been

I got dragged into 18 holes of mixed batting today by swmbo. Weather wasn’t good at times but better than sitting at home like some of you lazy bu88ers😇

You’re not buying a Beemer specially to hang your Givi bits on, are you? :grimacing:

A day at the races :+1:

Who am I kidding…

Sat in front of the goggle box all day watching the last round of WSBK at Phillip Island.
(Weather out the back door is proper Phillip Island too)

Make sure to do the Healy pass on the Beara Peninsula.

First of all make sure you arrive with time to spare to catch the ferry. My mate & I nearly missed the one to Santander once and that only goes once a week. We got to the check in gate and they sent us straight to the ship as everyone else was already aboard and once aboard they lifted the ramp and closed the doors before we even managed to tie the bikes down😱

About 20 years ago had just the same experience at Bilbao heading home. Missed a turning and ended up miles in the wrong direction on a toll road, had to pay for the privilege of heading back down the other side. Some hairy filtering through Bilbao traffic followed and likewise raised the ramp as we rode on (also only 1 or 2 ferries per week).
Bought an early satnav when I got home.

My near miss was down to my mate. He booked the ferry so I never thought tobasknas he normally has everything covered. But…he decided he wanted to stop at a greasy spoon rather than get breakfast on the ferry. It was nearly a very expensive breakfast…

I’ve just checked and that was back in 1999, that first satnav I bought was a Garmin GPS V, not really bike specific but was the only one claiming to be waterproof at the time. Hugely limited in it’s capabilities, memory, etc. compared to current tech, but bizarrely it seems Garmin still list it as being available! Find it difficult to believe they’re still selling a 23 year old model??

I’ve got to get around to finishing similar plans for me an Mrs Mouse  (Been pinching route ideas from watching Richa Vida’s YouTube vids of his tour.)

Already got a B&B booked for three nights near Killarney, thinking of the next three nights North East of Galloway. We don’t want to be changing accommodation each night and having several nights in one place gives more chance of seeing the best bits in not too wet weather. Which reminds me, need to try out Oxford Mondial suit I bought with an eye to Ireland

Today was so memorable I forgot what I’ve done…apart from putting new cleats in SWMBO’s batting shoes, repairing her batting ball retriever and reclaiming my summer batting electric trolly after she got hers back from the local batting trolly repairman and putting my bats back in their bag after yrsterdays slightly moist outing so it’s been a bit of a batty day.

Tomorrow by contrast I will mostly be…batting…

@Andyc1 The Healy Pass is already on the list! This won’t be our first visit to Eire, we are regulars. We have favourite roads and passes to revisit, my task is to make a circuit with new roads and attractions, but include the ones we already enjoy. This can sometimes mean taking different ferries to place us at different start/finish points.

Also to be considered, we are leading a group of friends, some of whom have been with us before, so we try to mix it up a bit for them too.

@Littleade When I organise a trip, I am OCD about ferry times and we always have time for coffee and banter at the ferryport!

Nice one, Ireland is every bit as good as Scotland IMO. Should be down there for a few days myself in the spring. Hope you have a great trip!

On Sunday I was watching the professional batters in Dubai. Very good at it they are too….

@Andyc1 thanks, we always have a great ride in Ireland and Scotland, even during the liquid sunshine, which they both share!

Today I was mostly batting again myself. Unfortunately any comparison with the above would be impossible to make…
