Today I have mostly been

Not quite that cold!

Picture or it did happen…

NOOOOOOOOOOOO…

Well today I stopped in bed to keep warm until mid morning. Eventually (I’m a rat race obstainer after doing it for too long) I went to see a mate who’s got MS and now a quadriplegic in a wheelchair to swap over a bracket which holds a support for his right side that the carers have stripped the thread on as they take it off when they hoist him in and out of the chair. It was about 20 degrees in his house so dunno what his gas bill is like :fearful:

Don’t normally walk up the Peaks at weekends, but only chance this week. Bit of an epic with traffic, they do like a closed road up there, but in the event a pleasant day out in the fog and ultimately sunshine.

Even the modest elevation of Stanton Moor gave us a nice cloud inversion

Nine Ladies still had a coating of snow

And a belting piece of steak for tea :slightly_smiling_face:

I have been doing my bit to try and bolster the amount of lady bikers today. Went out with two friends for lunch, one who has been saying she has wanted to ride since I started (she realised that, if I could, there was no reason she couldn’t) and one who spent her entire younger adult years on bikes but who has not ridden for decades and would like to get back on, but is nervous to. I gave them both the contact details of a decent local instructor who is also a friend of mine and they asked to see my bikes when they dropped me back home. The “return to riding” lady had a sit on my Street Triple (they both declined the Fireblade) and both left all enthused :+1: .

I tried not to exhibit tooooo much of my customary over - enthusiasm and managed not to launch into a full on Mrs Doyle…

Your customary enthusiam is exactly what will get them on to bikes!

Obviously your friends would be most welcome here but if they’re looking for something just for ladies then there’s the Curvy Riders club that had groups nationwide. They have new riders in their ranks and are very supportive of the nervous newbies. @Motopulcino is the Curvy’s rep for the north east and can help with any information if you want it.

Went to the superbikeshop in Donnington. Great selection of all bikes and you can easily waste a few hrs of looking about.
I was interested is getting a gixxer 1k but, nope.
Wrists couldn’t stand it and that’s the most forgiving one!
Tried r1, zx10, fireplace ( :grinning:) and others but, ironically, the most comfortable sportsbike for me was the most unreliable… Ducati 1198 s.
Fu#£ing typical!
Needless to say, I’ll not be changing my forum name to ducatitotriumphtoducatiforsomereasonagain…

A big f*cker…

I’m sure those that have met me will confirm I’m a bit of an old woman…

It’s all downhill from here…
