Today I have mostly been

So today I was waiting for a parcel to be delivered by Royal Snail. At around 1pm said parcel arrived as predicted, delivered by van by 2 postpersons. 30 minutes later postperson number 1 arrived on foot delivering the letters, this time by himself. Not exactly a model of efficiency…

Starting to try and clean things up a bit in the garage. Why do I have unused spark plugs for bmw airhead boxer twins? I got rid of my last one in 1992… And a set of points… I got rid of that one in 1987… I wonder what else is there? I remember loosing a gold bullion bar in the 80’s didn’t I? :grinning:

Its been a fantastic season, Scotland played some fantastic rugby and will peak for the World Cup. Ireland have been exactly the dominant team that was expected. France were a threat for winning the competition but perhaps they are focused more on the big prize later in the year. Wales have had a huge upheaval in the home league set up, and looked like their National Squad may have actually went on strike for their 3rd game FFS, so they had other things on their mind. England sacked their coach cos they weren’t winning last year, when what he was doing was bringing on youngsters for the World Cup, so they shot themselves in the foot. Last, Italy, fantastic improvement in their team, for the first time I thought they should be in the Six Nations ! I thought they were fantastic this year and now follow them as a second team. Finally Ireland get there 1st grand Slam, at home against England
after outplaying everyone wow. Johnny Sexton,s Grand Slam. Enjoyed every game, and will be going to more games next year if I can. Roll on the World Cup.

1st Six Nations??

Twenty eighteen?

I got confused by that as well. The commentator said it was Ireland’s first grand slam at one point but I think he meant their first to be clinched at home.

I’ve been watching the first ever ski flying competition for women. That’s ski jumping, but in one of the world’s five mammoth hills. FIS has been holding back for years but finally had to accept that women can do this too. It was a huge success and Maren Lundby set a new world record, since beaten.

Today I cleaned and lubed my chain before attaching it to a 2.5HP electric motor to cut down a dying tree. Then I cleaned and lubed chain again before putting it and the chainsaw back into the loft to await another decade or so. (Only other use was 15 years ago when I bought it to get rid of a tree as it was cheaper than hiring one).

Mother in Law visit this morning, second attempt to remount a dodgy blind :thinking:then our son came round after lunch. When he left washed bike and swept out the garage

When the wife returned from a walk she wasn’t impressed with the five foot skid mark across the garden from putting the bike back😀 Told her we should have tarmacked the garden!

Lovely day here so Helmut and I went to Baffle Haus - him on his Nightstorm and me on my Street Triple; first decent trip out together on the bikes we have had this year. It was pretty busy with loads of bikes and cars coming and going and always has a nice atmosphere. Lots of fun and it has left me feeling very optimistic that we’re seeing the back of what seems like it has been a long winter after the false start of gorgeous weather a few weeks ago - Spring Equinox tomorrow too.
