Everything for a reason..!

Was the pre ride approval form a flexible booking, transferable to another day? If not P&PPPPP as Carol said it was going to rain today

I have just had two nights’ camping in Wales at Cwmdu Campsite near Crickhowell. The weather could have been better and I was very very pleased that my tent was put up properly and waterproof as there were strong gusts of wind and the rain was torrential last night.

I had never been to that campsite before and it was fabulous for £11 per night. Very friendly indeed, safe for a solo camper and the toilets and showers were immaculate. There was a little shop and a coffee cart that opened in the mornings and evenings (it did bacon butties / pastries etc too, but I didn’t try these and served draught beer in the evening) and the Farmers Arms pub is very close by to walk to, or alternatively they will deliver food to your pitch. There are also pop up food stalls throughout the season I think.

Sounds like a brilliant little break!

Certainly was, it’s nice to get out and make the most of my days off from work when Helmut is away.

Good to see another camper. Weather can make or break camping on a bike but it sounds like excellent facilities onsite and at a great price. Pic no 2 looks very restful.

Had a nice bimble out today to try my new lid out which is quiter and more importantly there’s no turbulence so happy with that. Wore my mesh suit today for the 1st time this year too as it was a nice warm day. Popped in to see my mate who’s in a wheelchair as he wanted to see the sporting tractor (he’s seen it before but wanted a bit of company)

Today I took my Hyperstrada and accompanied Helmut to AP Workshops to have his Tuono serviced, stopping at The Piston Club on the way back, 168 mile round trip. Not the most scenic of rides by a long stretch and traffic was really heavy but it was still nice to have the day together.

We went out on our Enfield today to visit a bluebell wood. Didn’t want to feel left out of the club…

Saw lots of bluebells and other things including a green hairstreak posing nicely. Just got to enjoy the uk when the weather is this good.

Thanks. It was using a DSLR. I’m out of practice as I’ve been spending too much time on the bikes and not enough snapping away, I couldn’t remember what all the buttons did!

They turned out superbly.
It’s been a good year for the bluebell’s (as Elvis Costello never wrote…)
