What have you done to your non Triumph today

Down the road to Lake Vyrnwy I see, I was at that riverside spot at beginning of March

Yes that is the spot. We were going to go to our usual spot on the south side of the lake, but the road was closed.

Sunny ride to Loch Lomond.

4 posts were split to a new topic: The Langdales

Fitted a new battery to the MV .
The old one was only 3 years old but the bike hasn’t been used much over the last 3 years . It has been sat on an Optimate but when it went in to have the fuel leak sorted, when it came back it was a bit resistant to starting ..! So start with the simple stuff ..! New battery £95.00, same price as I paid 3 years ago .
Fingers crossed this cures the problem.
Maybe full time optimate is not the way to go . Maybe on and off it over the winter months ?

Mine are on full optimate all winter - my Speed Triple’s battery is nearly 4 years old now, and it started up without issue in March. And Speedy’s are fussy.

My RS is also left on all the time I’m not riding it and so far so good :folded_hands:

I have an incentive to keep the battery in good health on my MV - I’d have to take the fairing and tank off to change it!

I just put my Street Twin battery on for a day or so once every two or three weeks in the winter and run the engine for a few minutes. It’s nearly six years old and still working fine.

Like Dave49, I just connect my battery charger/conditioner for a day every so often over the winter, but my brother in Canada has his bike in storage on the charger full time. I don’t think there is any right or wrong way…

Trickle charged it over night and it started easily this morning.
An early run to the Suoer Sausage , blissful ride . No one around , A413 to myself all the way to Buckingham. Superb road ..
Then this …

Great atmosphere as usual..

Like many I keep my bike on an optimiser all year round when I’m not riding. Never had a problem with batteries.

Back home after 90 glorious miles.
Through Herts , Northants , Bucks and back to Herts.
Left home around 07.15( before the cycling herds) and back home by 10.30 through the thickest cycling herds of the season so far. Good job cyclists don’t have alarm clocks ..!

Looks like you had fun but I’m certain although I know the roads you would have ridden (wingrave pond in the photos?) there is no way I’d be holding you up on them at 07.15 unless I’d taken up sleep walking.

Three of us had a run up the Duddon Valley and over Hardknott Pass. The guy on the T21 wanted a picture of his bike at the top :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Yet more beautiful scenery to be had

The bumpy roads bounced a wire off the Triumph’s ignition, fortunately a friendly farmer was passing with a penknife :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:, then his clutch cable snapped going into Eskdale, so was a tricky ride home.
Great morning though!

And Wrynose, presumably? Gorgeous area.

No we started at Wrynose end and went to Eskdale. Came back over Birker Fell which is lovely too

Getting jealous of UK weather, lots of clouds and rain here in Spain which is due to be around for a few days
