What have you done to your non Triumph today

A beautiful sunny day in mid-Wales for a ~100 mile ride out with a mate. I am still loving the R nine-T Urban GS :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

The reservoirs serving England look very low at the moment :grimacing:

As low as this in September 2022?

Yesterday Helmut and I both took our Ducatis and went to the J&S Accessories / Cotswold Bike Meets day in Staverton, followed by the Silver Fox Cafe - another nice route done in the gorgeous weather we’re having!!

It was certainly the lowest I have seen it at the spot we stopped at (on the long route through from Rhayader to Aberystwyth)

Where I stopped is past the visitor centre (on the left below the 1st dam) travelling from Rhayader and about half a mile after the 1st dam with the reservoir on your left. The pic is the bridge where you turn left ahead of where I stopped that goes to Claerwen dam which is a dead end unless you go offroad. If you carry on without going to Claerwen you go past another 2 dams on the right before joining the mountain road at a T junction where yiu then turn left towards Devils Bridge and on to Aberwristwatch or right back towards Ryhader. Not that I’ve been there much

I just nipped out this morning for 50 miles or so on the Hyperstrada on a local route, stopping at Bringsty Vintage Cafe. There were a few spots of rain on the way back, but nothing biblical - it does seem to be getting quite heavy now though, as forecast this afternoon.

Changed the oil and filter, checked spark plugs, tired etc on Benelli TNT. First filter I got from dealers this morning didn’t fit. Said everywhere it was correct but not a chance when I looked at the old one!
I had finished tidying up when I noticed something on the floor next to the bike, it was a slightly rusty external circlip  Where the F### did that come from? Couldn’t find anything missing from bike, wheel will probably drop off next time out :slightly_smiling_face:

Currently sat waiting to get the RS serviced and drinking their nice coffee.

This R12 looks quite nice, but the £17k price tag isn’t. Had a look at the 1300 GS and GSAs. Feck the GSAs are huuuge and £24k, with a “normal” GS around the £22k mark with a few bits added like the ride height adjustment. Well above my pay grade!

Because there are no photos, Helmut and I didn’t ride to the Biker’s Campsite in Llandysul for a night on Saturday via Crossgates and Devil’s Bridge. I had planned an epic journey wending our way home yesterday, however the weather wasn’t very clever, so we didn’t go to The Owl’s Nest for breakfast then home via Penelope’s Cafe in Goytre Wharf, Pontypool and gave what tend to be the rainier parts of Wales even on a good day a miss. Still a very enjoyable trip away despite the rain and winds.

The weather isn’t brilliant at the moment, cloudy, grey - showers at anytime so what better time for a run through the Yorkshire Dales?

Richmond, Reeth (despite diversion), Tan Hill, Buttertubs Pass, Kettlewell, Grassington, Pateley Bridge, then Ripon and home.

16 degrees at home but only 8.8 degrees between Tan Hill and Keld.

Lunch at the Lakeside cafe at Kilnsey - and I managed to avoid the rain.

Nice day here, nice rideout, coming back through the Campsie Hills and past the Carron Reservoir- I think claims of summer water shortages are being greatly exaggerated!!

I’ve been plagued by intermittent coughing/missing on the Shovel. Days, days, I’ve been buggering around with it. Pieces of Shovel all over the place.
New brackets (one binned cause I measured it wrong) made for the CV and seals on the intake (anyone who has had an old Harley will know what a bugger they sometimes are).
A long line of swearing had it start first kick this afternoon, then thinking it was a bit louder than usual, discovered I’d forgotten to put the zorsts on.
More swearing and it’s just taken me round the block in the school traffic and only coughed once. Still called it a c**t as the Sherman stuff always needs a good ribbin.
Is it sorted? It’d better be the fuckin arsehole stupid thing.

I’ve figured out how to setup and personalize the TFT Honda probably borrowed from an Airbus. Also connected the Carplay without using bluetooth headphones (shouldn’t be possible but google gave me the trick).
Yes, I’m talking about a bike …

Just a local rideout today, to Aberfoyle where there is plenty of space for bikes in the car park and a handy cafe.

There were about 15 bikers there, on all sorts from a classic BSA, a couple of Velocettes, and the usual mix of modern Japanese, Royal Enfields and Harleys… it was like a youth club for the over 60’s!!

After work running-in. A short twisty and hilly 60km ride.
It’s good to have such a playground around. The picture is taken at 1500m alt.

Helmut came camping with me because that is what I wanted to do for my birthday…we spent three nights away at a site that I love. Day one was gorgeous weather and we had a lovely ride to the campsite and set up…day two was an absolute washout with torrential rain all day and we didn’t actually get out on the bikes…day three started nicely and we ended up riding back to the site in the torrential rain in full waterproofs and our way home today also brought mixed fortunes weather - wise. However…we had fun and stopped at Bringsty Vintage cafe today on the way home because it has become my “tradition” to have a slice of birthday cake from there every year. I can confirm that it was as delicious as ever!

I had an almost - off on some gravel on a corner yesterday on the Gower Peninsula…the back end went and somehow I managed to stamp a foot down and get the bike righted again, albeit over the wrong side of the road (nothing coming, thank goodness…). I almost had a heart attack, but disaster was averted at least.

Sounds like the rain didn’t dampen your spirits lol. Like many before you we have all been caught out with gravel in the road. Glad you managed to stay shiny side up.

Belated birthday greetings - hope it was a good one! And hearty congratulations on the ‘save’! That could have ended in the worst possible birthday present for you both - a big bill for slide damage repairs!

All’s well …
