The Tiger does look good in red, it only cost you a few broken ribs…. Bargain!

My plan for today was to give bike a long overdue wash, unfortunately the morning was sunny which isn’t suitable for washing as the sun evaporates the water and cleaning products before they have time to do their job. So there was only one thing to do, grab my open-face helmet and go for a pootle on the country lanes for an hour or five

By the time I got home the clouds had rolled in but now I was too knackered to start cleaning. Oh well, there’s always another day.

Looks like you made an excellent decision.
I am totally fed up. Today is a cloudless warm sunny day where I live, but the Met Office weather map shows roving clusters of heavy showers everywhere that I might want to ride.
I would have chanced it anyway, but four weeks ago my motor mower packed up, I’ve only just got it back, and the grass in our large garden is knee-high. Today is the first day that the grass has been dry enough to cut. After much soul-searching, I decided to do the responsible grown up thing and fire up the Honda (mower) instead of the Triumph. Just stopped for a cup of tea, and then back up the garden again. Apparently it’ll be pishing down all day tomorrow. Grrrrr… :grimacing:

Last rest day before I go back to work tomorrow so I got out on the Street Triple today for a lovely blast on some gorgeous roads (apart from the 5 miles stretch of newly laid and dressed road surface I had to negotiate. Not my favourite!). I even managed to avoid the rain, despite the sky being very threatening at times. I did 202 miles, including the Mach Loop where I struck it lucky and got to witness some fast jets low flying as I rode. The parking spots were choc full of plane spotters.

The route I took is below (mostly correct apart from my exact start and finish point, as ever!).

I had multiple stretches of same on my travels and passed many signs warning of imminent road closures, presumably because they’re planning on messing up those roads to.

They seem to ignore repairs needed for potholed and broken up roads and instead just want to through grit onto roads that weren’t that bad to start with. :frowning: Presumably because that’s easier and cheaper.

Tell me about it. We should have been riding up to Scotland today but rescheduled as one lad was going to see Heart last night, was cancelled, so we are riding up tomorrow in the pishing rain :cloud_with_rain::cloud_with_rain:

Oh dear. Didn’t know that.

Today may have been the only dry day this week, so I got out on the Speed Twin this afternoon.

It must be stone chipping season, as I came across a couple of sections on my travels as well!

In other news, I ordered a 400X Scrambler today. Delivery hopefully end of the month, early August :grinning:
