I had an afternoon in the garage putting some new bits on the tiger. Some new metal hand guards to protect the plastic wind guards.
A Givi locking tank bag mount.
A side stand foot.
And the crash bar bags I recently bought on Temu.

I think I’ve seen the box (and the presenter of) some of those goodies came out of…
Yes apart from the crash bar bags. The handover took place in Gretna lol
I took advantage of a window in the weather and just did an 80 mile ish round trip to Midwest Moto for a nose at the lovely bikes and kit and to get a coffee and another stamp in the passport. I like coming here because you always get a companion or three when you sit down …
Not to mention Mark Grinnal trying to get you out on a test ride…
Not today, it was the virtues of open face Shoeis over my full face today and the possibility of a deal . Always friendly there
.
Nothing, as it is precipitating felines and canines…
It hasn’t started here but looks threatening so I nipped out at lunchtime and cleaned the M1 grime off the Sprint from our Silverstone trip. The advantages of working from home.
Weather tomorrow is looking very good so I plan on doing a day in the Peak District, but the good weather started after lunch so I got greedy and did a 100 miles today too
During the ride I felt something bounce up the inside of my jacket sleeve, then a stinging sensation that seemed to grow over a few seconds. So I promptly slammed on the anchors and unzipped jacket sleeve to try and shake out whatever was in there. Didn’t find anything other than a bee sting sticking out the inside of my forearm which I pulled out. Not sure if I’ve ever been stung by a bee before, I’ve now got a two inch swollen patch but it doesn’t hurt much unless I press it.
I got stung by a bee once. £8 for a jar of honey.
…I’ll get my coat.
1 hour of total ride yesterday with the Sprint ST 1050 here and there.
Even after riding a “modern bike” I totally assume, I’m still enjoying the ST. It’s fast, fun, and much nicer that the Honda NT.
I’m not the only one there to embrace bike polygamy isn’t it
Did a 9-to-5 day riding to and around the Peak District, including a few roads I’ve not done for a year or two, e.g. up near Macclesfield and the Goyt Valley. Didn’t take much in the way of photos, but needless to say there was cake involved…
and some hills and moors.
Yesterday I did a nice little buzz around the Cotswolds area for about 190 miles before work; absolutely cracking weather (of course, now I am no longer camping in Wales ).
You don’t start work at 8 in the morning, I take it?
Yesterday I was on nights .
I remember those from when I still was in C&E… Hated them!
The only time I’ve worked nights was a student Christmas holiday job as a night security guard, guarding an art gallery in London. I had to patrol round hourly with a torch, and the statues and portraits’ eyes followed me round, while odd noises sounded from distant corridors…
Had another 9-to-5 riding day today, didn’t plan on being out that long.
I set off straight after breakfast to get my riding done before the heat kicked in, this time in the complete opposite direction to last week. By the time I got to my furthest away planned point near Bedford it wasn’t even noon and I was enjoying riding on less familiar roads. As the temperature was still comfortable I decided to go completely off piste and just started heading east on new-to-me roads.
Ended up getting to the point where I’d nearly burned through a whole tank of petrol and needed to use my tech to find a petrol station. These all seemed to be motorway services or deep in built up areas. Went for the later and regretted the resulting 10 minutes trudging through 20mph zones (Cambridgeshire seems to have done a Wales.)
Anyway, got extra food supplies with my fuel and soon found some empty country lanes to stop and eat them before plotting a route home. The last couple of hours was too hot for me so was relieved to get home for a beer and a rest.
