As the weather is actually hot for a couple of days I decided that the mesh jacket should actually get some use (I think in the UK you’re only allowed to wear them for 4 days per year anyway)

“Not a class day out”….. beats working …!
Oh how very true ![]()
Took back the Triumph yestersday for a ride under 35°c ![]()
In the garage she looked at me and I couldn’t resist. The bike is very very different from the Honda (Miss perfect
) but the 1050 engine is unbeatable to put a smile on my sweating face.
Took my Gt Pro to my local dealer for it’s 24,000 mile service. It’s a big one and I will take my own KY jelly for when I get the invoice…
Please let me know the financial damage. I have quite a long way to get to 24k miles, but knowing how much I need to save up would be useful. ![]()
You’ve probably got enough in your arse pocket Steve ![]()
Today I fitted new front brake- and clutch levers on Jefta’s Trident. The brake lever was damaged as she dropped the bike in France. Virtually stationary, misjudging the slope on a gravelly parking space in the mountains. Not much harm done - we’d had the foresight to fit engine protectors and bobbins on the swingarm. So minor damage, a slight scuff on the engine protector, bobbin and brake pedal, a bent mirror (will bend back) and the brake lever that snapped. No biggie, as we were going to replace the levers anyway, and this winter the brake pedal can be recoated with some other parts. The greatest dent is in her ego!
I assured her it happens to all of us… ![]()
Yup, we have all done it and felt stupid. Welcome to the club Jefta! ![]()
Today I went to meet three friends (two riders, one pillion) for coffee at HR4K and then we had a little ride out and I showed two of them Bringsty Vintage Cafe, which they approved of very much
. Not many miles, nothing exciting to write about, but great company in this lovely sunshine, so very much a lovely day.
Very long day cruising to and around Lincolnshire, mostly sticking to major roads as they’re smoother and much easier on my back. Satnav said I did 248 miles with 6h50 riding time, no wonder by the last hour or so it began to feel like a slog. Still, great to ‘escape’ onto wide open spaces, even if the odd time there was traffic.
Yep I have dropped a few bikes over the years. Can happen when you least expect it lol
That’s ridiculous, daylight robbery. My Ducati has them all over the place and I pay nothing like that for them. Usually an eBay purchase.
Did you go to Lee for this one bud?
Sadly no. I always took my earlier Triumphs to him, but he won’t work on anything with a tft screen, so I went to Sutton Motorcycles (Birmingham West).
Not today but yesterday, finally got round to fitting a taller screen to the Speedy (many thanks to Pedro of this parish
)
Took the bike for a quick try out and the difference was incredible! At speeds of up to 60mph
there’s much less windy and what there is is much smoother. Excellent ![]()
Good result. Any time I’ve had a screen on a bike, it has caused noise and buffeting at speed.
And how is the screen working out? ![]()
Oh sorry, yeah that’s pretty good too
Yup - when I was in Ireland I saw a certain experienced Scottish rider drop his Beemer at a petrol station…
(I dropped several bikes over the years, too…
)
