Stunning pictures, as is the norm. If I had to pick a favourite it would be the 1st picture, as the bike looks brilliant and the colours all around are top notch.
I went for a local ride - about today doing a few little jobs along the way. Nice to get out on the bike for a few hours
.
Out on the tiger looking for a potential replacement. Nothing says buy me at the moment, I guess I might see something at the NEC if I go.
Took the Street Triple out for a brief run in the short spell of sunshine with the aim of scrubbing the brand new AVON tyres a little just in case I decide to use it for my scheduled IAM observed ride tomorrow.
I obviously didn’t go quite far (or fast?) enough - you can still see the new tyre marker bands.
Hope it stays dry tomorrow - I don’t want to be cleaning this one, too!
Shinier than a polished shiny thing, lovely!
Thanks @Dawsy!
Woke up to the bitter disappointment of running-water-wet roads so had to cancel the scheduled ride. The observer was not happy! I DID warn him from the very start that I do NOT take motorcycles out when the roads are wet - round here wet means mud, sh!t and oil from agricultural vehicles, especially at post-harvest, sh!t spreading peak period, and that invariably means a 2 day job for me to clean and prissy up the bike afterwards. That’s an entirely preventable problem as far as I’m concerned - just ride in the dry. Simple.
Yep, I’m a wuss; precious; fragile prima donna - roll em all out … I couldn’t give the flying proverbial. But, my bikes - generally - stay clean for as long as possible and, best of all, I’m happy with that, thank you very much. Rant over, I suppose. ![]()
Haven’t cleaned mine since June
FS365 is your friend.
I did try that - and I do still use ACF50 - but I’m no longer a rider of necessity. It’s (mostly) pure pleasure for me and an integral part of that pleasure is in the aesthetics.
A chacun …? ![]()
Every days a school day etc…
FS365… Never heard of it til now.
Why that Vs ACF50?
Just curious ![]()
Left home this morning in lovely sunshine, roads a bit damp but ok, for a run through Trough of Bowland. Turned off A65 and entered thick, cold fog:confused: Stopped at Riverbank Tearoom as recommended on the map:+1:![]()
As we climbed the sun began to burn through
At the top it was glorious sunshine again
Cracking November day
Now to get bucket and sponge out.
I’ve used it for +20years, it’s always been brilliant, cover the whole bike which would cost a fortune and also be pretty messy with ACF 50. You can use it when bike is wet or dry and clean or not. Keep it off your brakes and tyres, though i do (carefully) coat the outside of the calipers too.
This is really interesting, thank you.
So,. Now I’ve fastidiously cleaned and ACF50’d…and am a year round biker …can I now spray the Fs365 ontop?
Or needs a reclean before applying?

I’d say go for it, it’s a hand pump bottle so you’re not going to wash the ACF 50 off.
We’re like minded AdieP, and the above reaction is the other reason why I haven’t taken to IAM or Bikesafe.
Hi @AdieP, I’m afraid I am with the observer on this one. If I had arranged my weekend to voluntarily do an observed ride and the person requesting it cancelled at the last minute because they didn’t want to get their bike dirty I’d be a little peeved too. Maybe it would be best to hold off until next summer to book another one when there is more chance of a dry spell to avoid anymore frustration and disappointment ![]()
Hi @HelmutVisor
It isn’t quite like that, and, whilst I accept entirely what you say, I should clarify that I made it crystal clear from the outset that it was, for me, a non-negotiable condition that my observed rides would be undertaken only in the dry . The fact that, on both rides to date it has p’d it down whilst we were out, meant that I could re-emphasise that point immediately after the ride and during the debrief! We’re in communication a couple of days before the ride and always the night before and I have postponed at least two previous scheduled meets so he’s aware of my ‘preciousness’ … so to speak.
What is a little bit galling is that I signed up in June and it took almost 3 months to get the ball rolling, an observer assigned and an initial ride organised. That, of course, is not his fault any more than is the weather so I’m not being critical of him at all.
Fingers crossed for a few dry weekends in the next few weeks!
I signed up to my IAM course in October 2019 (IAM Solent) and had an observer appointed within a week.
Obviously, given the time of year, I figured that most rides could be in crappy weather or on dirty roads. I was right! Rode through floods, down crap filled roads and it snowed on my test ![]()
I was just concentrating on passing couldn’t have cared less what state the bike was in - it’s just a bit of muck and it washes off ![]()
Found the keys of the Triumph I lost 5 months ago ![]()
I can now explain how they disappeared. They fall from my pocket while loading music gear. Picked up a cable from a big box, and… ho! my keys… ![]()
Now have 3 keys…
