What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

I agree . We have friends in France who are An English husband and a French wife. We and some other English friends visit the French living pals quite often and have been sat around a dinner table with some of their French neighbours. The British just have so much fun that the French neighbours cannot believe the difference. They’ve said many a time that a traditional French dinner group would discuss current affairs and politics. Where we sit and laugh at ourselves and current situations. The difference is staggering for them …

I avoid politics like the plague at the friends/family dinner table, it supposed to be fun and too many people have got access to knives at dinner.

I think it says something positive about the French that they can have debates around the dinner table and not end up falling out with each other if they have different opinions. We seem t have lost that ability amid in the burning hellfires of social media and inflammatory tabloids.

Even MCN has a bit of that tabloid headline nonsense sometimes. Although not always about Triumphs.

Taking advantage of the dry and reasonably mild weather to nip out for lunch. These days will be few and far between all too soon.

Yep I went out for a squirt on the Thruxton and then gave it a good clean. I will give it a coat of FS365 tomorrow and it is then ready to store until next spring :slightly_smiling_face:

22 weird hairstyled underachievers chasing an inflated pigs bladder around a field, it’s a No thanks from me.

Finally the sun came out and aligned perfectly with a day off work for me. I just did a nice local loop and stopped for a coffee where another lady biker I have seen about now and again arrived and asked if she could join me. She turned out to be very nice indeed :+1:. There were only adventure bikes at Dom’s when I arrived, so I felt like the (midget) odd one out; I didn’t have an adventure suit on or even the required braces on my trousers .

The bonnie got its first taste of salt today. It was only 3° this morning but I spotted some on the roads when I nipped into town this afternoon :rage:

Nice one, glad the weather played ball :+1:t2:

Took advantage of the sun to have a second riding day this week  Headed up to the Peak District this time and took some new-to-me roads to get there. Stopped for lunch at The Old Smithy in Monyash where there was a couple dozen other bikes then headed up to Hope valley area before wending my way home.

That’s a view down on Castleton.

Moneyash is a lovely little place for a rideout. I didn’t know about it until quite recently.

Back in the early 70s I lived in Uttoxeter for a couple of years, and often used to ride my T150 Trident in the nearby Peak District at weekends. Lovely area. (Bloody hell, that’s 50 years ago now. :grimacing:)

This afternoon was looking like the best weather of the week so I decided to get out for a few hours riding, it was also an opportunity to pop into a town and find a bank branch to pay a cheque into (the one in walking distance of home has shut). I was planning on sticking to the more major roads but couldn’t resist a detour down a single-track road I think I’ve only been down once before

Last half-hour of ride was under dark skies and rain which the forecast hadn’t mentioned, at least I was wearing my waterproof winter gear so that was OK.

Winterised the Bonneville. Inflated tyres, lifted it up off the wheels and drained the tank and carb bowls.

Yep, all drained and put to bed as well. I’ve put a squirt of oil down each plug 'ole. Just gotta remember to top up the batteries and kick them over a few times a couple of times a week.
Winter projects now…

It was 3° a few days ago and this morning at 7am it was 14 when I arrived at work. Priorities kicked in big time… quick bit of work done and out and off by 11ish :grinning:
Tank of fuel and head for the glens to catch some autumn colours in full bloom.

This was actually parked under a viaduct.

I was looking to scout out a little wood, and it turned out a beautiful spot, better than I imagined. I’m praying for a bit of fog this weekend and this place will make magical pictures with the autumn colours. It’s not looking too likely though.

Great hidden gem that was! The icing on the cake really. A great wee run of about 120 miles with fabulous roads and scenery. Love days like this
