Yep, nice. Candy paint over a metallic, always looks well. There’s some very cool paints around these days, House of Kolor do some nice candy paints.
Decisions, decisions - I always struggle doing my own bikes. Thanks, I think your suggestions have convinced me to go that way when I rebuild the chop. I have the new Sporster tank ready to rock, just get the rest of the tins off, just a few bits do sort before I can leap onto that yet tho…good job I’m retired
That is a lovely colour!!!
Just a quick few hours out for me today; nice enough ride but I didn’t set out until 1030 so the volume of traffic was crazy as you would expect for a BH meaning I didn’t go far as I start to get tempted to take risks which outweigh my talent in search of clear road when it’s that bad . Still it was lovely to be out on the bike anyway. I called in at Dom’s Bike Stop on the way home; it was absolutely packed!! There were some nice bikes there as ever, including an assortment of Victorys who I think were on an organised rideout.
I also wore my new jeans and boots - both were really comfy on and off the bike…but I certainly knew the boots were well ventilated after having worn winter boots for months. Was quite a surprise initially .
Three of us, two Speedys and a Z900 Anniversary, set off to ride up the coast then back over Birker Fell. As we were going up the coast the drizzle in the air was getting worse and there was no sign of Black Combe due to cloud so after a brew at Irton we decided there was no point riding into cloud for no reason. Back down the coast, which is a fantastic road by the way, over to Torver and home. No photos as it was miserable when we stopped. Great to be out but spoilt slightly by the conditions
I only had a short blast today too, to the dealers to book a service. Seen the new red street triple. Its rather tasty looking!
I parked next to one the other day; the paint looked much nicer than in photos - was there a yellow one there? I have heard that’s gorgeous in “real life”.
There was a yellow one, but it had already been sold so didn’t get to see it. It and the red are definitely my favourites going by pictures alone!
Where to this time?
I had a look at an 850 tiger last Saturday at the dealers - it looked rather tasty in orange.
Off to Almeria.
Fly out on Saturday, on track Monday to Thursday, then back home on Saturday.
Open Pit lane with just 40 bikes in total.
Beach front hotel, should be fun!
What hardship…
Went for a last ride on the 900 GT PRO to Ludlow. After 19,000 fantastic miles, it’s time for a change. We’ve been to Scotland, Norway, Portugal and all over England and Wales. It goes to Birmingham East in the morning.
SAFE TRIP and have a blast …
You know the drill about photographs!
Is there a like for like replacement or is a change of scenery on the cards?
It’s such a great bike, I’m having a blue one. And it was the wife’s idea…
Now THAT is the proverbial “WIN WIN”. Nice work!
Last week, we had a couple of days visiting the North East by car.
Monday night, WIFE “We’ve been invited to a wedding in October”.
My mind started thinking “How do I weasel my way out of this, both my girls are married, so I don’t NEED to be there”
WIFE “It’s in Sorrento, just below Naples”
I think " That could be alright, a few days by the sea, some wine, pasta etc"
WIFE “We could do a road trip on the bike”
I think " I like it, bike will need a service and tyres"
WIFE " It’s got to be about 3,000 miles, should we get a new bike, this one is nearly out of warranty and needs tyres and a service"
I think “Phone dealer in the morning”
Anyway, Friday morning were sitting in front of a very nice salesman who had a pre-registered blue 900 GT PRO ready to go. So I’m collecting it in the morning.
Hotels in Naples and Sorrento booked and maps are all over the table…
Great result. That is the kind of problem solving I really like
And then you woke up?
