Probably too much information. Anyway, I thought Artex had gone out of fashion.
Cleaned it today after trip to Scotland Monday to Thursday.
Monday was a “get there” day.
Up to Keswick for brunch at the excellent Filling Station. Highly recommended.
On up through the country to Scotland
To our destination of Musselburgh, all in cracking weather

Day two was through the Cairngorms to Inverness.
The first part was dreadful as we tried to avoid going through Edinburgh as MV Boy was worried about overheating. Ended up riding through the Grangemouth refinery and Falkirks lovely areas

Once we got to the Cairngorms though it was stunning!
Some beautiful little glens with narrow twisty roads along with fresh chippings! Had a bit of vertigo approaching the Lecht ski centre
Headed the 70 or so miles over to SportsBikeShop near Boston to get a new pair of summer gloves. Lovely weather, and on the way I passed a milestone…
That’s 5 miles to Boston, oh, and 50,000 on the bike in first 5 years of ownership
(And yes, I did find a website that showed location of old milestones, and yes I did ride up and down the road for 5 minutes to get the mileage to clock over )
Day three was from Inverness to Dumbarton but via the Kyle of Lochalsh and Eileen Donan Castle. Probably the best day on a bike in my life I was laughing as I rode along because the weather was perfect, the roads were empty and the scenery was unbelievable. Majestic is an understatement.
And there was a piper!
Stopped at the always impressive Commando Memorial where it was a bit hot!
Back through Glen Coe to the hotel after a long but outstanding day😊
Did you see the Kelpies?
Saw the sign but we were on a mission to get away from Falkirk
Forshame-forshame…
@Dawsy the scenery and weather look fantastic.
Nice so when you going back?
It’s something else up there
Looks like an absolutely brilliant trip, Falkirk excepted. Excellent scenery and photos. But who is this Eileen Donan?
I would guess next year!
She lives in a castle in that area:grinning: Bloody predictive text
Was up through Braemar, Glenshee, the Lecht, on Sunday fantstic,Great to see you enjoy these roads Dawsy.
Home day was a disaster to start. Two of us have done the run home a few times with no dramas but this time both our Beeline units three right wobblers! Did 55 miles in circles, up and down all within about 20 miles of setting off:face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
Eventually got home absolutely knackered but thoroughly pleased with the trip. Not bad mpg either

Should have said, we met loads of really friendly people in those few days, bikers and non-bikers alike. A lovely German couple on a two week camping/motorcycle holiday (don’t think he was a big fan of camping though ) and a great Aussie guy who took the photo of us with the Piper, especially stand out. Would love to recommend Scotland to anybody but don’t want to encourage folk too much:grinning:
Some photos from last night’s meet. Lovely weather, some good people and plenty of bikes to look at (plus handmade small pizzas and an ice cream van!).
@Dawsy looks like a fantastic trip! I reckon I’ve been on most of the roads you travelled, and loved them.
I am sure you have But they will never get boring
