What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

Had exactly the same happen with my Laverda-but I was only turning the left tap off, bloody nightmare amazed it didn’t burst into flames as I’d just turned the engine off, leant it to the left and filled me boot up.

That’s a myth! We don’t stuff fingers in dykes, we’d be prosecuted for such behaviour!:laughing:

I knew someone would lower the tone…

Oil looks clean because I only changed it last year.

Decided to go for a ride to test brakes and new goggles which finally arrived. Weather forecast was as it’s been for a week, i.e. random showers, and I managed to time it just wrong as I got soaked through within 10 minutes of leaving home. I took shelter under the canopy of a garage forecourt until it passed and managed to dry out on a 100 mile sunny ride, with some judicious course corrections to avoid dark looking clouds.

Brake noise has gone though when freewheeling I can hear something, but that may be chain on front sprocket which sounds similar. (Maybe that was what I was hearing before and it wasn’t brakes after all.)

New goggles work well and there’s no eye irritation at full riding speed though the bend in the lens is a bit distracting. It’s about in the same position as the edge of the pinlock on my full face, so not that intrusive, but still irritating when one of the appeals of the open face is the unobstructed vision.

fitted some RideIt Levers to the 1050 TS, had these a few bikes now and love em.

A bit of a touch up to the paint and new better quality tank taps fitted. At least I have one that’s road legal and running now, phew…

…and now I’ve lost one of the ignition keys. I like to have two so another ignition switch on order.

Further fettling with the T100 front suspension looking for the perfect set-up, when i bought it 2 1/2 years ago it had the standard springs in but came with some Hagon progressives still in the box, I rode it for a couple of months before changing to the Hagons and new 10 weight fork oil, it was better but not dramatically imop. It still felt a bit vague, so last year out with the Hagons and in with some Ikon progressive springs-which are full length and required no spacers and fresh 7.5 weight fork oil-great improvement straight off, the damping was noticeably better but after 5k miles it’s definitely not as it was so i decided to change the oil again, the old oil came out clean as the day I replaced it unsurprisingly but it had lost alot of viscosity and was very watery so I’ve gone for some Motul factory line, still 7.5 weight but light medium not 7.5 light as before, so fingers crossed.

Well, they got here pretty quickly. A shame other suppliers can’t seem to get anything in the post in a timely manner.

A free sticker and a packet of sweets too. I’ve obviously eaten the sweets as I’m on a diet. :no_mouth:

I rode 50 miles in the pouring rain this morning to take my Street Triple for its service; picking it up next Saturday as it’s easiest so hopefully the weather will not be quite as vile then!!
