What You Been Doing With Your Triumph Today

I do actually enjoy cleaning chains for some reason, far more than the rest of the bike .

There is osmething quite satisfying about seeing a clean chain on your bike. I agree. I’m not sure about 'enjoy though.

I’ll PM my garage address - loads of fun waiting for you. :joy:

Don’t bother with @Littleade ’s

One of the few, maybe the only downside to not having a chain…

Hi all,i thought i would show another tweak to the Street twin,i fitted a 3 pot Nissin caliper a couple of weeks back, the caliper is off of a Honda CBF 1000 and is a straight fit.A bugger to bleed as its part of the Dual braking system on the Honda and has two bleed nipples, also added HH sintered brake pads to the caliper.See images.

Standard disc. Looks posh too ! Pete.

In reaction to the chain cleaning posts,i like to keep on top of the chain, nice shiny gold thing, its easy as i only use gear oil to lube the it.Always done it in the same manner chains last forever it seems, does’t pick up the grit etc.

ride safe,Pete.

Today Helmut is on call for work so we can’t venture too far in any direction BUT he also has his new Ducati to ride, so we had a nice 60 mile jaunt on some good local roads. Fascinating to me to see the top of the bike and rider gliding along when we went on a bumpy / gravely track out of our coffee stop whilst the rear suspension is moving around constantly working hard to make it so - Helmut says it feels really smooth.

I took my Street Triple and obviously had fun - impossible not to on that bike :slightly_smiling_face:. Can’t say it smoothly glides over bumps and gravel though :grimacing:.

Exactly my experience with the Tiger vs Speed Triple…

More like ‘what was I suppose to be doing with someone else’s Triumph today’. Due to the continuing British Summer, I cancelled a Street Triple test ride for the second time. Also not taking my MV to have the suspension set up. Stupid weather. :rage:

Hi all,the TEC exhausts are back on the bike, 4th time ! as i previously mentioned great sound with the baffles out but didn’t like the look,so changed a few times ! Now though, and this is odd and just goes to show how the brain works (mine that is ) Since i have fitted the ribbed vented side panels the bike looks great ! Contacted the very helpful TEC admin re the big bore baffles they produce and have ordered those, hoping they give a nice deep but more legal sounding note. Also i have fitted a Fuel booster plug,no idea if its doing what the sales blurb states but hey ho.I do know that the tiny spacers i fitted to the throttle housing cured the annoying play that was there.ride safe.Pete. attachment, bar risers.

Bad luck! This has been the most miserable July I can remember… on the up-side, my boss has been informed that if/when we do get a good spell, I’m pissing off for a week :joy:

Its funny how baffles work, I remember making an in-between size baffle for an exhaust and it was no louder than the small original, I then shortened it a bit and that seemed to make the difference I was looking for.

Hi Andy, yes i have played with the original baffles by cutting them down but hasn’t worked to my liking, fingers crossed the much larger diameter short baffles do the trick ?On another note i have noticed the the speedo seems to have adjusted to the larger front sprocket,at least at 30 MPH,always spot on through those speed limit smiley face signs.Pete.

It’s officially crap.

I’m assuming the comment of the bottom is also weather related.

Meanwhile in France we are facing drought…
Well water comes down sometimes, but in thunderstorm, brutal, and short time.

I’ve noticed the reservoir up the road from where I live is far from full despite the rain.

Someone needs to fix the leak.

Hi all, today i tried the second different set of baffles for the TEC slip ons in the quest for the perfect note ! for me that is.Cut the originals down a couple of inch’s, too muted still.Sent off for the larger diameter set put them in, hmmmm not sure ? will decide when i can get out for a ride.Although i am pretty sure i will opt for the cans without baffles.LOL. Would still like to get the original OE exhausts to sound deeper.

Luckily easy to change just 2 circlips.

MOT day yesterday. Speed Triple sailed through.
The shop I use for my MOT is run by one of my old school pals. I’ve known him for 48 years ….
I also asked him if, whilst the bike was there, he could whip the front disc callipers off and give them a spot of copper grease on the back of the pads and a quick clean as, whilst in Holland the low speed squeal has come back.
He did the MOT and did a disc run out check on the rolling road, it would appear that one of the discs has a little run out on it…He swiftly took the callipers off, greased them up and put them back. Then he just charged me for the MOT.
What a top bloke…!
I’d name check him here but he doesn’t want or need more work, he’s stacked out and trying to slow down…!
