Pyrenees, Alps, Dolomites, N Italian Lakes

I’d just buy them and seek forgiveness afterwards, it’s a lot cheaper than asking for permission beforehand :face_with_peeking_eye:

Annecy is very nice, but I couldn’t live there. too crowded, too expensive. But yes, definitively very nice place.

You also have Sportsbikeshop in Bristol on the way up, if you go on their website beforehand you can order any amount of stuff in varying sizes to be delivered to the store for you to try on thus ensuring they have the stock you want in as many sizes as you want with no obligation to buy

Today was bigger miles (and even more km’s ) dispatched via a good mix of D,N,A roads.
Can’t cross France without a night in one of their shackeau’s, we’re just outside Bourges.

With a lake view.

Today was Bourges to Vitre, much the same as yesterday, only wetter (and staying at an Ibis).
Bugger, I’ve wet myself again.

Vitre has character. :+1:

That’s gorgeous!

Very nice though you wouldn’t want to ride 2 up fully loaded down those streets in the wet :scream: especially with my stumpy legs

I can vouch for it raining there, half an hour later and we was drenched, we was on foot this time though, makes a change. :joy:

Just arrived at Roscoff, overnight hotel, and then board the ferry to Plymouth tomorrow.
The D769 provided the last bit of fun before home, an empty road demanding to be ridden slightly naughtily.

Just out of interest, how was the ferry prices? I was looking at Rosslair to Bilbio the other night. 700ish euro return, 1 passenger and bike with a cabin both ways :grimacing:

Brittany ferries, Plymouth to Santander, 1 bike, 2 people in window cabin was £461.
Roscoff to Plymouth, same was £225.

Thats about right then, 2 people would halve the cabin price making it around 500 euro each… it was about 350 last time I went just before covid!

They know they can take the piss with the Santander ferry cost as most who want to ride in Spain or the Picos don’t have enough time/annual leave to ride down through Frogland and by the time you add your hotel and travel costs the price between the 2 options is very similar, or at least it was when I used to go back in the last century…

Thanks Paul, SWMBO is the one that’s swell sensitive, but this return crossing is much shorter and away from the Bay of Biscay so fingers crossed. :slightly_smiling_face:
( that said, outgoing crossing was flat calm so no problem)

Some vagrant, can’t afford a room, waiting for tomorrow’s ferry.

We had to ride up through France last time as they cancelled the boat. Lots of tolls and a hotel! One toll alone was 90 euro! The ferry would definitely be my preference.
